Colombian reporter outlines "Chavez/Correa" plan against Colombia, Obama is mentioned.
El Pais Blog ^ | March-06-2008 | Juan Manuel Ruiz

Posted on 03/06/2008 10:13:42 PM PST by ElCapitanAmericaLives

The following is my translation of the blog post by Juan Manuel Ruiz.

http://www.elpais.com.co/blogs/principal/blog1.php?b=20&n=590

Read the following with full attention: the meeting of March the 5th in the Miraflores Palace between the presidents Hugo Chavez and Rafel Correa, served so that both leaders, far from seeking to end the crisis, would agree to what could be their "plan of action" to follow win order to isolate Colombia and topple the government of Alvaro Uribe.

Sources from both governments that found out about the contacts maintained by both presidents from last Saturday, think that the general alignments for what will be the plan to follow at this moment to deal Colombia a mortal blow and the United States, will be the ones I now enumerate.

This plan can be divided into 12 basic points. I hope they are read with much attention and that you can start seeing in reality, the manner in which these events will unfold.

1. Don't eliminate the possibility of war and downplay the resolution from the OAS (Organization of American States) on the Colombian attack against the FARC in Ecuadorian territory.

2. Threaten with the withdrawal from the OAS of Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Argentina and precipitate an inter-american crisis.

3. Nicaragua, Bolivia and Argentina, considering Colombia a regional threat, will break off relationships with our country, just like Ecuador and Venezuela have already done.

4. Invite "friendly" European countries to exercise great pressure against president Uribe and to consider him a threat to the stability of Latin America.

5. Invite European and Asian countries to decrease their commercial agreements with Colombia on the basis that it is an interventionist country and a violator of human rights.

6. Wait for the election of Barack Obama so that, as president of the United State, can promote the negotiations for the humanitarian exchange, with the liberation of the 3 gringos and of Simon Trinidad and alias Sonia.

7. Take Alvaro Uribe against the International Criminal Court on charges against humanity on the basis of his alleged ties with Colombian paramilitary groups.

8. Resume direct contact with these countries, plus France and Norway, with the FARC with respect to humanitarian exchange.

9. Promote the liberation of Ingrid Betancourt in the zone that borders Venezuela and with the participation of a commission composed of 10 countries.

10. With such international pressure and an economic crisis that will be reflected to the common citizen, start the necessary contacts with Colombian political leaders to ask for the ouster of president Uribe, on the basis of having fomented and induced the discomfort of the Colombian people.

11. Prolong the circumstance as long as possible, in areas that the next Colombian president accepts international mediation for the negotiated resolution of the internal Colombian conflict.

12. Bring the FARC to the negotiating table and as a "belligerent force", so that it can lead the peaceful end to the Colombian conflict, on the basis of the a Bolivarian Constitution.

Never before have we encountered such a crisis. We are at the most crucial moment in our history.

I would imagine there is similar dialog in Iraq and Afghanistan between Al Qaeda about the opportunities an Obama presidency will create toward overthrowing the current governments.

WOW! What has Hugo been smoking?

Does he really think France and Norway are going to go along with this?

This whole thing reads like some egomaniacs pipe dream. Oh - wait! That describes Hugo Chavez perfectly.

You are either breaking news that the rest of the world won’t see for months here...in which case we thank you...

Or you are a mental patient who happens to speak Spanish. (Yo esutdio espanol para cinco anos en la escaula secondaria y para quatro anos tambiean en la universidad, porque yo tengo que practicar)

What the heck do I know? I’m just a jackass with a modem.

I’m not crazy, just reporting stuff from the Latin American press.

I make no claim that this plan, as revealed in this story is really what Correa and Chavez are trying to achive. However, by their actions, it doesn’t really seem that far off.

Also based on the notes by the FARC, and comments like this, I just find it interesting that a lot of these factions are relying on an Obama win. Not that that is Obama’s fault, but it is interesting nonetheless.

“Does he really think France and Norway are going to go along with this?”

Yes they would. Both would love to give us a little diplomatic tweak. Both can be counted on to bring this before the U.N. considering we are Columbia's friend.

They would see it as a worthwhile annoyance to us with little cost to them.

France should be careful if they want airbus to keep the tanker contract.

I don’t know if Sarkozy would go with that though. He’s definitely no Chirac.

I appreciate your efforts to post something new and different. It beats the usual stuff.

At the same time, the idea that islamofascists in the mideast and socialists and Marxists in Latin America are rooting for a leftist/pacifist like Obama is hardly “Breaking News”.

In any case, the mental patient would be the autor (Juan Manuel Ruiz), who’s been doing journalism for 17 years according to the page. Sadly, nowadays that isn’t a sure sign of sanity...

"In any case, the mental patient would be the autor (Juan Manuel Ruiz), "

From the same URL:

Juan Manuel Ruiz. He made journalism for 17 years and is the only office that I have played regularly. Desde el año pasado decidí incursionar en la literatura con mi novela "El sepulturero". Since last year I decided to venture into literature with my novel "The sepulturero."

“3.-Nicaragua, Bolivia y Argentina, al considerar a Colombia una amenaza regional, romperán relaciones con nuestro país, como ya lo hicieron Ecuador y Venezuela.”

If bolivia and argentina follow suit, it certainly would add some credibility to the rest, which admittedly sounds on-target, though I am baffled by the 2nd appearance of obama in this stuff. Does the guy have a shadow cabinet already making deals (maybe, he is less than 1 year away from the most powerful office in the world, if he wins).

It is a classic move already utilized against Aznar in Spain by the French establishment -and their protégé ETA-, the Northern Italian Oligarchy and their Socialist allies inside the country.
