Eight House Democrats were mailed a letter and photo of a Times Square recruiting station in Manhattan before it was bombed this morning, according to House insiders.
The letter did not contain any specific threats against the lawmakers or the site, but the U.S. Capitol Police and the FBI are now investigating the matter.
It was unclear which lawmakers received the letters or when, but House aides confirmed they were all Democrats.
The New York Times is reporting that the "improvised explosive device" used in the attack "was 'roughly similar' to the devices used in two earlier bombings at foreign consulates in Manhattan in 2005 and 2007.
UPDATE: The letters and pictures went to Democrats representing New York City-based congressional districts, according to House sources. It's unclear whether Democratic Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Charles Schumer received similar letters
Is it the new year in Outer Mongolia?
These are some NUTS....AQ don't recruit them this stupid.
This is the DU crowd.
Apparently the 20 page letters were a rant agains the war in Iraq.
Agreed
It is his fault.
You know the guy who gets blamed for everything.
Begins with a B.
My first thought: the RATS receiving the letters were probably supporters of the bomber.
Buchanan?
Because Dems already have the Berkeley anti-military mindset. The Code Pinkos or whomever decided to send them a little message: get rid of military recruiters in NYC or worse stuff will happen right in your districts.
They attacked and trashed a recruiting office in DC a couple weeks ago. Kevin (True Black Man) was forming up a group to counter protest them for a March 16 (I think)
I think the G men need to locate all the Kinkos in NYC and see who ordered 8 copies of a 20 page letter in the last month..
Well- I’m not sure yet when the letters were sent.
Sounds like a crowd Bill Ayers might hang with ;)
Agreed- this is not AQ style.
Anarchists.
Next thing you know they will be setting cars on fire at 3AM in NYC.
Maybe the same people involved in this?http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1973406/posts
Nah....they are not the types.
You guys should remember that every congressional office receives thousands of letters a day, and they are opened by uneducated secretaries and pages.
Their main goal in opening them is just to get a feel for constituent sentiment.
The page who open this letter probably added 1 to the ‘against the war’ category, and tossed it on the pile.
On February 15th 2008, the leftist terrorist group called The Student Democrat Society(SDS) took it upon themselves to attack the Armed Forces Recruiting Station at 13th and L Streets N.W. at 18:00(6 p.m.).
The violent leftists terrorists entered the recruiting station and proceed to trash the place of their own free accord as DC Police simply stoodby and did nothing about it. The terrorists took joy in reporting and recording their terrorist actions
(http://dc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/142455/index.php).
This is the second time that DC Police have stoodby as the terrorists who call themselves the SDS have runamuck in the city, this past summer they tore thru the Georgetown Area of the city hurling bricks at innocent bystanders as the police seemed powerless to stop them.
The SDS has a history of violent actions against men and women in uniform and those citizens who speak out against them and are only enbittered because the surge has worked and victory for American is close at hand. SDS and their allies are nothing more than homegrown terrorists and failed socialists who are the bottom of society!
Yep French YOUTS...
Aahhhh. Well, that makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? Civil disobedience.
Like watching a group of elementary school kids playing, in their blissful ignorance- never realizing who provides their security and safety...
Good point.
