Just days after officially dropping out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination, Mike Huckabee is already making plans for a possible run for the White House in 2012.
We want to stay in touch and start now building a platform to continue addressing issues that brought us together in the first place, Huckabee said in an e-mail to supporters on Wednesday.
We will keep our Web site up and as we transition, will want to create a way to keep in touch and continue the battle for our families, our freedom, and our future.
Huckabee intends to use as a model Ronald Reagans efforts following his failed run in 1976 and leading up to his success in 1980, the Washington Post reports.
He plans to help GOP nominee John McCain and Republican congressional candidates gain support among conservative Christians for the November elections, while looking for a national radio show or other forum that he can use to expand his influence within the party, according to the Post.

not history....a footnote in history

He might as well stay busy preparing for the same outcome in 2012, the Year of the Dragon.
"Huck the Magic Dragon", tra la la......

I agree it was the liberal Romney that was the real spoiler in this race. And the mittens can’t let it go and are still attacking the only social conservative out there.
um.... i am a fredhead, not a mitten, and i began this election season with a favorable impression of mike huckabee. the way he conducted his campaign made me lose all respect for him. i would never vote for him for president.
Go away, Huckster.
And that comment about mittens wasn’t directed at you. But I had the same reaction to Fred. I started out liking Fred, but his unenthusiatic campaign, social moderatism and his quick surrender left me unimpressed.
“Huckabee intends to use as a model Ronald Reagans efforts following his failed run in 1976 and leading up to his success in 1980, the Washington Post reports.”
Silky Pony Edwards is a better “model,” for the sanctimonious, pandering, Southern populist.
LoL, Excellent!
well my point was that it isn’t only mittens who find huckabee a glib, smarmy attention whore. and as a social conservative, i didn’t find his record on that score impressive enough to outweigh the feeling that he was in this strictly for the attention. if he’s serious, he needs to run for the senate in Arkansas and get his hands dirty running for an office that he might actually have a chance of winning.
106 million spent by Romney . . . Amazing amount of money for so little success.
You say Huckabee was “used” . . . used by who? I think what you wrote is nonsense.
Strange and unbalanced post.
Yes indeed, your Huckafraud post’s certainly are “Strange and unbalanced”, but then, so is HuckaCarter.
Have a nice day. :>)
Did you look at your post? #52? It’s ridiculous. I haven’t seen that sort of unhinged hatred outside of the left wing sites.
I don’t need to look at my own post, I wrote it. While you may love that phony Christian, I despise him with just as much commitment.
AND, while you may certainly have and state your opinion about that dweeb.... so can I.
It is unfortunate that you are unable to see the phoniness of that poor excuse of a man, but I, like so many others, see right through him.
Of all the things to be displeased with about this years election, at least Huckasquirrel has been exposed for the two-faced shill that he is, and for that, I am pleased! His career in politics is over, he just doesn’t know it yet.
Now, I don’t doubt that YOU may indeed be a very nice person, perhaps a good Christian that thinks you have the best of intentions in mind for our country. You may not like this, but I believe that Huckacheat did nothing but confound and dirty the election process. Fortunately, folks saw through his ‘act’ and with their votes, kept that creep out of the Oval Office. ;>)
Please know this...I’m not trying to convince you of anything, as I know that you wouldn’t change your mind regardless of what I might say. You have already made the alter call for Huckbeeeee.
I will never change my mind about that jerk and when I want to insult him, I will, period.
Have a nice day....
Pitiful.
Yes indeed, Huckabeeeee is “pitiful”.
But ain’t it glorious that he lost?!! LOL
