Just days after officially dropping out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination, Mike Huckabee is already making plans for a possible run for the White House in 2012.
“We want to stay in touch and start now building a platform to continue addressing issues that brought us together in the first place,” Huckabee said in an e-mail to supporters on Wednesday.
“We will keep our Web site up and as we transition, will want to create a way to keep in touch and continue the battle for our families, our freedom, and our future.”
Huckabee intends to use as a model Ronald Reagan’s efforts following his failed run in 1976 and leading up to his success in 1980, the Washington Post reports.
He plans to help GOP nominee John McCain and Republican congressional candidates gain support among conservative Christians for the November elections, “while looking for a national radio show or other forum that he can use to expand his influence within the party,” according to the Post.

Good. I hope Huckabee develops a strong small government economic message and succeeds.
We still aren’t going to be in the market for a tax-hiking nanny-stater in 2012, Huckster.
I expect he will be the next self-appoint evangelical leader.

Mitt withdrew OVER a month ago and the Huckster only picked up 10 more delegates. He's a whining humanist that is full of himself. He's no better than a Denomcrat. If he runs again I hope he runs under the proper party - the Demoncrats. He's just another liberal with a twist - hiding behind “religion”. His “religion” is HUMANISM. He also lies like a rug. I am thrilled he is gone. The people spoke, NO ONE WANTED HIM.
What he really needs to do is ditch the divisive religious talk.

Sign up the wife and kids with Jenny Craig and get a REAL job. He's another Clinton/Carter combo. Now he's trying to get some face time through McCain. This campaign has ALWAYS been about MIKE. If he really cared about the waitress that slipped him a $20 in the run down diner, he would have refused it. He had NO CHANCE of winning.
Medved said he was the most talented debater in the history of televised presidential debates.
Stephenopolus said he is a great talent. Even when you hit him hard he keeps smiling and gives you a good answer.
He was my guy because on social issues there was no shrinking and no flip-floping. For me if the social issue part isn’t strong the rest doesn’t matter.
I hope he returns next time.

Romney spent 60 or 70 or more million dollars (anyone know the final figures?). I bet he outspent the Republican field combined. Huckabee did all this by being an attractive candidate. You are making a mistake if you underestimate him.

I thought Mitt left off a 30 million of his own money. At most 40 million of his own money. I don’t care how much anyone spends and am not impressed or unimpressed by it. What I am more concerned about is their message and vision. Mike is a disaster. More will come out about him ... in time and that will kill any rerun. Mike is a petty, vindictive fraud.
But can he keep the weight off that long?
