Don't try to cloak yourself in religion.

We have to cloak it in the terms that hold human beings higher than animals. If we don't, we slide right back to the old customs that hold human life as worthless.

Where in the Bible does God tell man to wantonly slaughter animals without good reason?

Where God gives dominion over all the creatures of the Earth to mankind. Dominion means dominion, your choice of emotionally load words notwithstanding.

If you want to let God do the judging then why should we try murderers?

Because murderers kill human beings, and kill them in such a way that it makes them dangerous to the rest of society (human beings). This is distinguishable from manslaughter and wrongful death.

People who kill an animal are not murderers. The implication that the murder of human beings is equivalent to killing an animal is disturbing.

If someone were to kill my pet for fun, I would sustain personal damage. The killing of a wild bird causes no one personal damage. Except some rather confused outrage from liberal programing.

Some of us enjoy wildlife, and take great pleasure in watching God's creatures. Killing animals for no purpose is not the proper way in which man is to exhibit dominion over the animals. Yes, human life is more valuable than that of a bird, but it doesn’t mean that man is free to kill and torment the lesser living creatures.

I enjoy wildlife. I go out of my way to avoid a squirrel on the road and move turtles out of the way of traffic. I kill deer because I like to eat them.

But this comes from inside, not by force of law, which law was instituted by liberal institutions, who use it to damage society and individuals who challenge their green agenda.

You cannot separate the radical green agenda from the statutes it lobbies into legislation, or the constant conditioning of people with that agenda.

The endangered species act, what is being used on this person, is one of those blocs of legislation.

If you do not like what this guy did, write him a letter. Join with others and all of you write him a letter. Write a letter to the editor or an article. Protest in front of his house for a time. Spread the word.

But don't use the force of asinine law to damage him. Take the responsibility yourself

What is disturbing is the lack of value you place on a living creatures life. All creatures have a purpose, and for man to interrupt that purpose for no good reason is simply wrong. This hawk was not killed to be eaten, or killed because it had become a danger to man. The bird was just killed for some guys kicks.
Of course the killing of an animal should not be equated with the killing of a human being, but that does not mean it should go unpunished. A wild bird is something given by God for all of us to enjoy. I would bet that most golfers at that course enjoyed watching that hawk and the other nearby wildlife. Those golfers were all deprived of something they enjoyed. The young man that did this needs to be taught a lesson.
I would prefer not to use the force of law to punish him; however, political correctness frowns upon kicking someone’s ass these days.
