Your daughter wants to pay for a man she’s not married to go to medical school? Is she willing to accept that this might be a gift to him and that some other woman might end up a doctor’s wife?

Unfortunately, my husband is too ill to do housework. (although, he somehow finds energy for some of the things he wants to do) (God forgive me!) LOL

That's where financial planning comes in. Most households need dual income and has for many years now but if that household plans for a baby that family needs to have enough stashed away or the dad needs to work extra for at least 2-3 years until the baby can handle pre-school or a learning daycare. I took an extra night job for 4 years until my wife went back to work and then she made enough money and I quit my day job but kept the night job so I can be a part of my now 9yo son's life and that's where we stand now. I wouldn't trade my night job for anything.

Obama, Billary and McCain want change. The problem I see is that they are all Washington insiders.....all Senators. Where’s the change?

Yeah, I want “change”. I’d like to “change” the GOP ticket to Hunter/Thompson.

No one is “average.” Many men work hard and provide for their families. Some men just mooch onto middle-aged divorcees and exchange lovey-dovey for a place to slum.

Your daughter is absolutely insane if she thinks putting a guy through medical school without a lawyer-vouched contract between them is going to lead to anything but a kiss-off at the end. Unless, of course, she marries a lawyer who can sue the boxers off the guy and his trophy replacement for her, which would be a dandy idea for a teevee show, come to think of it. The young man is doing her a favour by saving her from a lifetime of heartache and denying her generous but lunatic offer.
An elderly lady patient of my sister the nurse recently opined that “At our age, dearie, all the men want is either a Nurse or a Purse.” I have found that over the years I could have married at least a dozen times if I had been willing to pay all the bills and let Junior sit at home, strum a guitar and Find Himself. I always told them to keep looking.

according to our exclusive Elle/msnbc.com Money, Sex and Love survey of nearly 74,000 men and women. Yeah, I'm sure it was a scientifically representative population sample, too.
