If Hilllary and/or Obama get elected, it’s all McCain’s fault.
“Conservatives who refuse to vote for McCain need to read this article.”
People who claim to be conservative and yet will vote for McCain should get incurable bleeding piles down to the backs of their knees.
Nope, I reject your premise. I don’t want to see Hillary or Obama be president. I’m just not excited about a liberal republican being president either.
Why do I have to be excited about a crappy candidate that the republicans put up? I don’t walk lock-step like a liberal democrat just because someone tells me I have to.
Perhaps you should read what Jim Robinson wrote before posting this tripe:
McCain gets conservative grassroots support when...
The days of choosing the lesser of two evils are over. McCain has to earn our vote, and my non-vote for McCain does not equal support for Hillary or Obama.
I don’t need to read this and I don’t need to vote for someone that is third worse.
You need to get the point!
We ain’t voting for McCain!
GOT IT!
I won’t take any chance of allowing Clintobama to become the Commander in Chief of our troops. Never. Everything else will be pushed to the side to be sorted out later.
I think his bigger problem is the majority of conservatives who, although they will hold their nose and vote for him, won't be motivated enough to write a check for him.
Many good points in the article!
Bullcarp. That was the ACLU that did that. The ACLU argued successfully that these mental patients could not be held against their will unless they posed an imminent danger to themselves or others. So they all left the hospitals and many of those Hospitals closed their doors.
I, for one, find myself greatly relieved by all of this, quite frankly. Thanks for the reassuring heads-up, Team Juan! WOO-Hoo!
Didn't get past this ridiculous title. A little news flash here...primaries are supposed to be an opportunity to find the best candidate within the party, not to look for the worst possible compromise of one's values...well, at least for any party other than the republicans.
The dems aren't worried about compromising to find a viable candidate, Obama is the further left of all 100 senators and Hilary isn't too far from there.
PING
Great plan. Every day I'm a foot closer to leaving the R party. The I is looking pretty good these days.
Not! First of all, the Abortion Bill Reagan signed was very narrow, and he spent years trying to rectify that mistake before running for presidency. Second, Reagan never opposed a tax cut, because it “Benefited the Rich” Come to think of it Reagan never used leftist class warfare rhetoric in general.
So save your breath, I’m not voting for McCain, I don’t care if you produce a picture of Reagan at a Communist Party meeting, it doesn’t change who McCain is. You Republicans selected him, now good luck with that.
The author does not get it.
Conservatives are not looking for Ronald Reagan incarnate.
However we do judge people based on their stands.
You don’t just embrace someone who pisses on your leg and tells you its raining.
Prelutsky shouldn’t be confused or confounded, maybe he’s just senile. People generally vote for politicians that they agree with. This is particularly true of conservatives.
Rebublicans should stop calling conservatives sanctimonious and self-righteous if they’d care to bring them around to voting for their guy.
It’s tiresome!
Reagan was not a great “conservative purist” -
he was a great man, a great leader, and a visionary. He was a conservative, but he was also a realist.
Reagan realized that in the short term, it was more important to defeat communism than to defeat liberalism. So, Reagan compromised with liberals, and allowed them to balloon social spending in exchange for massive military spending.
