“Fire officials: Salt Lake City house explosion was arson”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Fire authorities have determined that a house that exploded and caught fire Monday morning in Salt Lake City was arson.
Authorities say they have located and accounted for the residents of the house at 303 Marion St. (1040 West) that blew up about 2:40 a.m. The residents were not at home at the time of the explosion. “
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “A witness told police a car sped away from the area shortly after the blaze, Montanez.
Investigators have also determined the garage to the house that exploded had been broken into early Monday. Police also are looking into reports of several cars that were vandalized in the neighborhood, she said.”
