I recived an email from John McCain's fundraisers today, here is the message and response from me.
Dear Friend,
Last night, we did it. We won the Republican nomination for President. It was a long, up and down journey, but we worked hard, spoke honestly to the American people, and our steadfast determination has paid off. As we come to the end of our party's primary contest, we begin what will certainly be a spirited and hard-fought campaign against the Democratic nominee. In November, Americans will have a clear choice to make. And I intend to fight as hard as I can to make it very clear that I am the candidate with the experience and leadership to serve as our commander in chief from day one. My friends, I write to you today because I know we have a great challenge ahead of us. This campaign will be more expensive than any other in our history and I ask you today to support my campaign by making a generous contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1,000. As president, I intend to reduce the size of the federal government, reduce your tax burden and win the war against Islamic extremists. My Democratic opponents will increase the size of the federal government, raise your taxes and withdraw our troops from the front lines based on an arbitrary timeline.
I have said before that this election will be about big things, not small things. And as president, I will make the hard but necessary decisions to lead our country in solving our greatest challenges. Today, we must unite as we face either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama in November. I ask that you join me today and make a financial commitment to help our campaign replenish our resources.

Dear Whomever, John will have to prove himself when/if he get's elected.
Until that point he may get my vote but as a conservative he needs to convey a that message to convince his base and myself.
In the past he has shown many attributes that indicate Mr. McCain is not conservative.
The jury is out, no matter how heinous the alternatives I will withhold my support for him.
Until Mr. McCain convinces me otherwise I will be sitting on the side
As a member of the Republican party since I was able to vote (1978) and active in the conservative movement (for many years) you need to think about it what this means to the Party and Mr. NcCain.

That's what I'm going to use my persuasive skills on, not defending the author of shamnesty.
Judges are not the only reason but they are an essential reason to support McCain right now. I will send at least as much as I sent the losing campaigns of Thompson and Romney.
Who would I rather have nominating judges, He who will pick activists to get his friends the Democrats to join him or one who has to work to get a bad nominee through?
That will be very useful when you nationalize the congressional campaign (or at least regionalize or otherwise replicate your actions)to make that happen. What are your plans for that?

It will be interesting to see how far to the left McCain runs when his staff reports that thousands of letters came back from professed conservatives with middle fingers extended.
McCain won’t owe conservatives a thing after the election-message sent.
In Rat districts in blue states (and even some red ones) we push: "Dump all incumbents, they're part of the problem."
In Rat districts in red states, we push "You know the Democrat is going to win, the best of the Clinton years were when we had a division between the White house and the Congress".
In Republican-leaning districts in red states we say, "Vote for the most conservative person you can in the primaries to make sure you don't lose everything when the Democrats take over the White House next year."
Specific enough for you? All we need to do is to convince the folks responsible for Republican congressional victories that it needs to be done now. I'll admit, it's damn tough to make it happen without a Newt Gingrich figure to be the head of it like in 1994. But over the next two years, such a figure will inevitably appear, and lead us to retaking the Congress in 2010, setting the stage for total conservative Republican victory in 2012.
I accept the fact that no conservative will take the oath of office on January 20, 2009. I thus turn myself towards the direction of what will benefit our party (after it's learned from its mistakes) in the future. Juan McCain and having to fight Shamnesty II is not part of that rebuilding effort.
One more reason to vote Republican.

if Democrats make the Bush tax cuts expire, they will have effected a huge tax increase at a time when the economy need less burdens on production, not more. This will be a huge blow to the economy and send it reeling. Why are the Democrats’ threatening the economy like this? Because to do anything else would force them to give up on their giveaway programs and promises. It took the Republicans 12 years to get a bit too comfortable with earmarks, special interest politics and lavish spending, a habit that cost them their majority ... But it took the Democrats barely 12 months to do the same, and there are few signs that their bad habits are being noticed.

At this point it's difficult to say, McCain's choice could be the same as either of the Democrats.
I need some serious convincing before I'll back the MSN's Republican pick for President.

I think someone who's passionate and emotional is someone I can relate to, but when that passion is arrogant and belittling and self absorbed it screams this:

If I could read McCain's mind, see the future and post everything that would transpire over the next four years that would be just great.
As it stands now we have only his record to glean and I do not like what I have seen.

The GOP should have considered that when setting up the primaries so that a non-Conservative would have an advantage. THAT is on them. Appealing to Conservatives at the last minute with a fear campaign is petty and thoughtless.
The sad thing is, McCain’s all we’ve got now the Republican establishment has allowed the MSM to choose our candidate for us.
I’ve gone back and forth about even voting for him, with the kids in the military and my concern for their welfare being his only hope of getting my vote. When I think of Obama or especially Hillary lording their socialist selves over those kids, it looks like McCain is the only thing standing between them and THAT eventuality. Having said that, I don’t think he will be elected after Hillary gets through with him in the general election campaign.
What McCain obviously doesn’t “get” is that every time he drops a stink bomb in a rally of conservatives, he not only loses a couple hundred votes, he also loses many more votes with their influence among their own families and friends . . and if he thinks his “going easy” on Obama or Hillary and Bill (two for the price of one) is going to make them “go easy” on his scandals and moral problems, he is dreaming. He ain’t seen nothing yet. I can see not going “over the top” with inuendos and comments about the opponents, but truthful statements can lend an air of levity to any gathering. Saying a candidates full name is NOT worthy of being attacked and belittled. Now, McCain had best watch and not say Hillary Rodham Clinton, or snicker at another single comment ANYWHERE, ANYTIME about his opponent.
Which President's 'mavrick' nonimee would more likely be resisted by Republicans in the Senate? Republicans damn-near pushed through McCain-Bush Amnesty. What makes you believe they wouldn't rubber stamp a McCain nominee who doesn't "wear his conservatism on his sleeve"?
At least there's a SLIM chance they'd grow a spine if they didn't have the cover of supporting "their" party's president. Doesn't wash.

Very true, how in the double hockey sticks do we find ourselves in this position?
At this point we are faced with choosing the lesser of two evils, safeguarding our country is of the most importance and McCain would do a much better job than Hill or the magic man.
Quite a dilemma, I hate to sacrifice values over voting for a man who I have had so much disagreement with.
