The state said there will be a six month gap of vulnerability at the border when feds pull National Guard troops.
Sate homeland security said the National Guard on the border will leave in July, six months earlier than expected. Officials said border agents wont take over until December at the earliest, leaving more than 180 miles of border virtually unwatched.
The original plan was to have the National Guard watch the border until 6,000 new agents could be properly trained.
Border patrol officials said that wont happen until December, but state officials said thats not stopping the feds from pulling the plug early.
State officials said the feds are not saying whats behind the early withdrawal of guard troops from across the country.
The state said the withdrawal leaves the New Mexico border vulnerable.
"We'll create a window where the smugglers and the cartels and the border criminals may try and take advantage of," said Tim Manning of New Mexico Homeland Security.
Homeland security said heavy patrols and new fencing in Arizona and Texas means there will be a funneling effect of immigrants and smugglers into New Mexico.
Oh they do, make no mistake. They just dont give a shake because they're ALL in it for money - nothing else.
Cool, thank you.
Let me rephrase, he’s the only one left in the race who wants to solve the problem.
For the record, I’d personally like to see a fence built, along with these other measures:
My plan to solve the border problem:
1 end the anchor baby policy
2 end welfare benefits for non-citizens
3 end subsidized health care and public education for non-citizens
4 swift and harsh jailtime for employers of illegals, plus seizure of assets
5 build a 1951 mile wall from the Pacific to the Gulf
6 allow non-citizens to cross into Mexico with impunity
7 Pass the FairTax
8 overthrow the current Mexican regime and install a non-corrupt, capitalistic government
I’m glad you brought up point 8 because it is something I don’t see mentioned often. We’re going to spend all this money to fix a problem that is the result of Mexico’s screwups.
I mean...nobody is talking about millions of illegals crossing over from Canada even though there is virtually no border protection at all. Why? because Canada is not a corrupt country like Mexico. Corruption kills the economy even more than high taxes and socialized medicine.
Calderon says he wants to do it and Bush wants to help but I think he’s too much of a softie. The president must be very tough and demand real results from mexico
I’m also concerned that people may be able to bypass the fence by building tunnels. That’s what hamas does in gaza and we’re not talking about 1951 miles to watch over.
This is all really about the North American Union. Bush and Calderon are dancing to the globalist tune. A recession/depression will cause us all to accept it.
Ron Paul is one of the few who wants to deal with it head-on, and just about the only one who ran for President. Even Hunter talke around it somewhat when Glenn Beck asked him directly about the NAU.
The Globalists have other plans for Mexico. Their corruption will be assimilated into the US and Canada.
By the way, I think Venezuela/Columbia tensions may also play into the justification for a NAU.
The PTB want an attack to add some excitement to the election so they can justify feeding the tattered remains of the Constitution into the shredder?
The Community is scheduled for 2010.
No surprise considering Richardson!
