Clinton: Be careful what you wish for, Rush By Klaus Marre Posted: 03/05/08 09:30 AM [ET]
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), buoyed by important victories in the Democratic primaries in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island, on Wednesday offered some words of warning to conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, who had urged Republicans to vote for her as the presumptively easier Democrat to beat.
Be careful what you wish for, Rush, Clinton said on Fox News.
For the second time during this campaign season, the former first lady survived what many viewed as a potential knockout punch from frontrunning Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.). While Obama maintains a significant delegate lead, he was unable to seal the nominations Tuesday night, having to concede another two populous states to Clinton.
By getting the most delegates, by having won twice as many states, by having a lead in the popular vote we feel as if we are on pace to get the nomination, Obama said Wednesday morning in an appearance on the same network. And it will take a little longer than would be true if we werent running against a Clinton, but were still going to end up getting it.
However, instead of being able to focus on Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), the newly crowned Republican nominee, Obama must now continue to expend his considerable resources on the Democratic primary.
The Clinton campaign is seeking to use the breathing room the former first lady was given in polling places in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island to map out its path to the presidency, as a memo from strategists Harold Ickes and Mark Penn was labeled.
In the document, the Clinton team says it is time for a second look on the race and the candidates and argued that the momentum has swung

There sure is a lot of doom and gloom on this thread.....almost as much as when McCain became the presumptive nominee. It’s interesting to see Republicans fighting back and disrupting the democrat nomination. The Democrats helped pick our candidate, we’re just returning the favor.
Barack still came out ahead in delegates last night, but the fighting between the two dem. candidates will only heat up from here on out. McCain needs all the help he can get.
The party hacks and superdelegates who were committed to Hildy first will make it a condition of supporting Obama as nominee in a brokered convention.
He won’t want to do it, but he will.
Also, look at the races. She can not win all of them. Thus, mathematically it is not possible for Hillary to become the nominee via elected delegates. I predict the Dems will not allow the supers to overturn the primary vote.
One of his other problems is that he is financially constrained during the Primary season (even when raising money) because he agreed to take campaign matching funds. He has not actually started taking the match and on that basis is trying to opt out. However, he needs a vote from the FEC to do so and they presently do not have a quorom to vote on it because Bush’s appointments are being held up. I doubt that the Senate will oblige Senator McCain by voting these guys into the FEC.
He is not bound during the general election season with Campaign match but that does not start until September.
Word.
It has to be more than 53% if you are talking about pledged delegates from the primaries.
Hillary is losing she won’t be picking anyone as VP-unless the super overrule elected delegates. She may have ‘mo’ but she doesn’t have the delegates and has no chance of getting them.
Rove includes the supers in his calculations. Rove didn’t do such a good job in 2006. I wish he would shut up.
Political realities of a very close nomination process will force both candidates to consider,if not accept, the other as VP.
Also the superdelegates and party hacks who initially supported the losing candidate could make it a condition that they change their support-—thus nominating candidate A-—so long as candidate A agrees to pick candidate B as VP.
Rush could retire and never work another day in his life. He’s too busy “having more fun than a human being should be allowed”
Not all, but they were more than 2-1 GOP; remember, the Perot vote was an anti-incumbent, hence anti-Republican, vote.
Perot's purpose in running was to defeat George Bush, and, obviously, it worked.
I would not want to be Obama’s insurance agent in that scenario.
That and the simple fact that Hispanics don't get along with blacks, but keep on blaming somemone else if you choose.
So what? Then she turns around and selects Obama as her VP. And we end up with BOTH of them on the ticket anyway.
ALL they are running for now is to see who can get the TOP spot.
My husband and I are completely split on this issue. He thinks Rush is spot on; I think Rush is dead wrong. The sooner the witch is out of the race the better. I’m worried that Obama’s already started a slide into oblivion and it will end up being all Hillary, all the time. She and her connections (not to mention the FBI files) are a lot more powerful than the support for Obama.
I was just repeating what I heard Rove claim on Fox News.
“What makes you believe paid radio would be exempt from the fairness doctrine? It wouldnt.”
If you mean satellite radio it would be exempt in the same way that cable TV is exempt from a lot of FCC regulatory reform. It’s pay TV not free TV. Paid radio is treated differently than the “people’s airwaves”. Its the same reason that people like Howard Stern and the other shock jocks can go to satellite without worrying about public decency standards enforced by the FCC.
Maybe after this happened, the Dumbocrats would start working on killing sat radio outright. Sat radio is granted its license to operate by the government. That’s about the only thing they could do.
Why don’t you go put a fresh Hillary bumper sticker on your car.
