I received a FR Mail:     From ---------------- | 03/04/2008 8:31:37 AM PST replied

"I believe in Miracles too...."

"The Huck got my vote this morning. My husband is voting for him this afternoon."

Post Your Votes for Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, or Fred Thompson Here!
It's Conservative Delegate Time.   Decide for the Best Nominee at the GOP Convention!

Texas GOP Conservatives:   Do NOT waste your vote by voting for Democrats.

-> (See article below: GOP Voters "Disgruntled in Texas" - Opps! )

·And no one should be voting for `corruption personified'!·

GOP Conservatives, there is conservative work to be done in the Republican Primary!

McCain does NOT need final approval today,  or this spring.   If McCain is so good,   he can wait until the convention this summer.

99 = McCain does NOT need final approval today

- - re: McC

He does NOT yet have the necessary delegate count that he needs to clinch the nomination. There is still time to derail this disaster already waiting to happen.

Disgruntled in Texas Opps! = Apparently, they didn’t realize that by implementing Rush’s strategy, they would not be allowed to vote for any of the Republicans on the rest of the ballot.

“Yes it is distressing to see the silly childish response that some on FR have taken. Much like spoiled children...if they can’t get their way entirely...they pout and throw tantrum’s...with little regard for the severity of their actions.”

Good grief - I thought this was a Republic that allowed voters to vote for who they wanted in office, not some oligarchy.

One man one vote OF OUR CHOICE. Sorry comrade, the Grand Old Politburo doesn't own my vote.

At this time, I think the `miracle’ is getting good conservative delegates to the GOP convention.

Let them decide the nominee.

ah- I voted for Hillary NOT Obama, and was trying to make the point that voting for the Huckster or even worse yet someone who already dropped out IS a wasted vote. RINO McCain has it locked.

The reason we have RINO McCain is because of all the rats who voted in our open primaries and the liberal news media convincing the conservative candidates and voters that the conservative candidates had no chance. They dropped out before very many of us even had a chance to vote for them.

I find it hard to vote for people I would not sit at a table with and eat. The older I get the less I am willing to compromise my standards regardless of the outcome.

At what age does that happen? ;O)

Since I can't vote for them in November, I'm using this thread to vote for Duncan and Fred.

I know, I know. . .I'm only supposed to vote for one, but since this doesn't count anyway, I may as well do whatever the heck I want.

Based on reports I've read about past elections people voted twice and it did count.

How is Fred better than McCain? Specifically, how?

I do not think people being against McCain is a childish response. Many of us detest the way McCain has acted the last eight years. His McCain/Kennedy and McCain/Feingold are horrific examples of what this man can do. Why in the world would we trust him when he has considered becoming a democrat three times?!

I think the “spoiled children” who are fighting against McCain are more concerned about the future of the country and the GOP than those who are blindly supporting him because of the R behind his name.

I crossed lines in 92 since Bush I was a lock and voted in the Dim primary once for a friend who was running locally. I was so embarrassed they stamped my card “Democrat” I burned it. I was in my 30’s. It happened to me that year and just got to be a stronger feeling the stronger I got in my faith. Politics are not anywhere close in importance to your eternal life but I think of Peter and how he fell by compromising. There are stories all the time about people compromising their principles then regretting it later.

Something I don’t understand here.

Those of us who refuse to vote for McCain are being accused of supporting democrats by people who are actually voting for democrats in the primary.

Is it still our fault if the democrat that the McCain voters voted for in the primary wins in the general election?

Fred believes in the Constitution and does not want amnesty for illegal invaders. He wants to revamp the tax code and SS. He is not a irate old man that twists off randomly. It is moot he is not the GOP choice but I can still vote for him. I will not vote for McCain. 4 years of Dims if we can keep the Congress somewhat even will be a wake-up call.

Above all I am a conservative, not a Republican.

Thanks for the answer. Overall my take on Fred is that he is nearly as "moderate as McCain," though with a better personality. His campaign was a disaster, imo, and I grew to really dislike him over the course of a few months. That's after starting out being interested in his candidacy. But many good conservatives disagree with me. A few rude ones lost my respect along the way. It has been a strange election season.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to answer me. I'm always happy to see the reason be "Above all I am a conservative, not a Republican." I couldnt' agree more.
