It's hard to know how seriously to take things like Rush Limbaugh's call on his listeners to vote for Hillary as the only hope for GOP victory in the fall; there's not much evidence that people ever cast tactical votes like that in meaningful numbers.
Still, an interesting report from a reader in Dallas:
On the local conservative radio stations, many Republicans are calling and complaining about feeling disenfranchised.
Apparently, they didnt realize that by implementing Rush Limbaughs strategy of voting for Hillary in the Primaries to prolong the Democrats fist-fight, they would not be allowed to vote for any of the Republicans on the rest of the ballot.

Have they never voted in a primary before?

So to manipulate the outcome, he’s asking people to be dishonest to provide a lesser candidate? That just kind of smells fishy to me, I don’t know about you guys.

Republicans should NOT cross over (in Texas, I don’t want to speak for Ohio). In Texas, you are listed as a party member when you vote in that party’s primary. This means that if you cross over, you will be registered as a Democrat until the next primary. You also will not be able to vote for other Republicans on the primary ticket, such as congress and judges. Most importantly, if you cross over, you will NOT be able to take part in the caucus this evening. In Texas, our caucuses are not just about the Presidential nod, but voting for State Republican party platform changes and local party officials. Delegates for the State convention in Houston are also chosen from the local caucus.

It’s not fishy. It’s manipulative. It’s called politics.

Perhaps Rush should re-think this not-so-clever strategy of his. Or maybe the voters in question should educate themselves as to what a primary is for.
Either way, there's a lot of people looking pretty stupid today.

I never liked that whole gamey “vote in the other’s primary” nonsense. Let Obama’s followers bury Hillary on their own. It’s my job to make sure my candidate is in the ring to beat one or the other when the general election rolls around.
If you want your candidate to win, you gotta get out there and vote for them.

"So to manipulate the outcome, hes asking people to be dishonest to provide a lesser candidate? That just kind of smells fishy to me, I dont know about you guys." As a Texan I don't like that tub-of-lard telling us what to do. And yes, it is fishy and dishonest.

I understand what Rush wants, 1968 all over again. I just believe we should let the Dems implode on their own. We don’t need to give them an excuse to focus on attacking our side for trying to influence their election.

Or maybe the voters in question should educate themselves as to what a primary is for.I'm giving it a shot today; voting Hillary. I want to help keep the primary going so Hillary and Barack can mudsling all the way to the convention.
I'd also like to see her pull off the nomination. It would divide the party worse than the whole McCain fiasco divided the Republicans, plus I'd rather run against her than Obama; running against a religious cult will be much tougher if he wins the nod.
No Republicans in my district need primary help either.

I never liked that whole gamey vote in the others primary nonsense Me neither. Let the Dems fight amongst themselves. It's entertaining.
Of course, remember the idea came from someone who's back pain was so horrible he became addicted to Oxycontin......but the same pain never prevented him from flying across the country to golf!

I knew that. I live in Dallas. Why didn’t they? If they blame someone else for their own stupidity long enough, they’ll begin to feel right at home in the Democrat Party.

The Rush to cross over ...
Refuse to 'rig'
Recently, Rush Limbaugh put out a call to Republican Texas voters to cross over and vote in the Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton. His reasoning behind this was to "rig" the election so as to have the weakest candidate run against the Republican machine in the general election this fall.
The saddest part is that caller after caller to his show has called to say they've done exactly that voted early for Clinton in the Texas primary so as to rig the election. The actions by Limbaugh and his listeners are simply appalling.

I’m sure they realize it. They aren’t Democrats. They just don’t care who wins on the GOP side.
