Bravo Dr. Groulx! My first pregnancy tested positive for Downs. My son is healthy and beautiful - I would have taken him any way he came out because that was how he was intended.
I have a grandson who is Down’s Syndrome. No intestinal problems, no heart problems. He’s just a doll.
Our OB strongly recommended against any prenatal testing other than an ultrasound because of the high rate of false positives. Can you imagine how many children are killed that don’t even really have abnormalities? (Of course I don’t think they should be killed either way.) I hadn’t even considered making sure my OB was anti-abortion before we chose him. We just got lucky. But I would recommend other couples ASK specifically ahead of time, so that they don’t find out when the test results come in that their doctor wants them to kill the child.
