Reagan admitted his mistake and that Congress failed to perform as they promised.

When did Reagan admit his mistake? And does admitting you broke the law excuse you from having to serve the time for doing so?

I don't know the exact date and time, but it is well recognized that President Reagan admitted the 1986 IRCA was a mistake and a failure. For McCain or Obama or Hillary to repeat the same mistake would be a failure to learn from history, much more egregious than a first time mistake.

McCain (&Bush)won't even admit his amnesty is an amnesty.

it certainly *excuses* some illegals from serving their US jail time....we read about many who *opt* for self deportation, rather than serving US jail time.
