LOL....that didn't take long. Followed right after the "Joker" message ....ROFL. Predictable.

You possibly had diligent workers at your polling place. I'm not disputing your account if, indeed, it is an actual account which you witnessed. I wasn't there. So that's why you called my post "Horse Hockey"?
more serious than asking workers to duck outside in sunny Arizona for a swig of coffee.
Nice straw man attempt.

Dear greyfoxx39,
If one is available, and it works logistically, sure, why not.
My own church is used as a polling place because there ins’t a nearby alternative that isn’t also in use.

I'm all for the polling places to be in schools...there certainly wouldn't be any religious control there! Worked the polls in any schools lately? The walls are plastered with garbage promoting global warming, safe sex or whatever cause the NEA happens to feel is important.
I much prefer a synagogue or church with their far more subtle symbols such as a picture of Jesus, a star of David or a scripture verse. I've poll-watched in both places and the religious institutions are always cleaner, and usually roomier, more comfortable and more friendly, even if it doesn't happen to be my favorite denomination.

Well, if the school is good enough for the kids to spend the day in, I'm fine with the hour or so it takes to vote in one.
Funny, MY sensitivity to religious control on a polling place doesn't quite measure up to your standards for your preference for "cleaner, and usually roomier, more comfortable and more friendly, place"
Do the catholic churches require the voter or poll worker to perform the "sign of the cross" and genefluct when entering? And would that come under the "more comfortable and more friendly place" definition if they did?

Look. I'm in Pennsylvania. I never have voted at Mormon Church. There aren't many of them here. I don't even believe they require poll workers to leave their coffee thermos in the car.
All I am saying is that even if they do, it is far less of an inconvenience that what I've put up with at polling places here-- running the gauntlet with union and party hacks, sometimes even inside the polling places, supposedly neutral poll workers who don't follow the rules, those who "accidentally" misplace registrations, especially for registered Republicans and on and on.
Common sense tells me that even if you brought a coffee thermos into a polling place in a Mormon Church in New Mexico and did not identify it as such, you would be free to sip out of it as long as you did not flaunt it. Have you ever had any actual experience doing this or putting up with some of the things I've mentioned here, or is it that you just don't like Mormons?
If so, have you ever tried to get your local precinct to find another polling place? What was the result?

You call my post
"Horse Hockey", post #88, you doubt my eyewitness account in post #99, "I'm not disputing your account
if, indeed, it is an actual account which you witnessed." and now you attribute motive to me,
"or is it that you just don't like Mormons?".My side of this conversation ends here.
