Most gringos have already left.

Just curious: where are people going? North Florida? Idaho? New Europe?

Just curious: where are people going? North Florida? Idaho? New Europe?

North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and east Tennessee are all popular destinations.

Crime, outrageous real estate costs, sky-high property taxes and homeowners insurance, overcrowding, rudeness, an overwhelming preponderance of non-Anglophones, awful schools, and overall sleaziness combine to make this a pretty lousy place to live.

If you give me a chance, though, I'll tell you what I really think. ; )

I'll be out of here in a few weeks, myself.

If this keeps up, it's going to end up being like a modified scene out of Atlas Shrugged: Miami's Middle Class Exodus

Oh, and yet another police officer was shot here today: Link

Yet another crime-filled day in sunny south Florida.

But, hey, it is  80 degrees and sunny.

I live in central Florida, and the original inhabitants have been leaving the area for decades. They are moving “north”: North of Palm Beach County; our area, which is Indian River and about 1-2 hours drive from Palm Beach; out of the state; and now moving west into the interior of the state and the west coast.
