CANTON, Ga. A school bus has overturned in Georgia's Cherokee County, and authorities say two students are in critical condition.
The bus lost control Monday morning on Highway 140 near Canton, about 40 miles north of Atlanta.

The bus lost control
Wouldn't it be the bus driver who presumably lost control?

Wounded or injured? There is a difference in public perception.

Well, according to the article, it is indeed "wounded", by a bus that lost control evidently.

I ask this every time something like this happens:
Were they wearing seat-belts?
I can't believe we require parents to spend hundreds of dollars to safeguard their children in the family car but the government ignores the safety of our children when they are in their care.

See that’s the problem. The bus had control, the bus lost control. If there’d been a bus driver in control, this would not have happened.
Praying for the kids.

Can’t say this surprises me; there are many school bus drivers in Maryland who drive a school bus as if it were a Ferrari.

IIRC, there’s a law requiring schoolbuses to be equipped with seat belts by 2010? Not sure if that’s already passed, or was suggested, or whether it’s local or federal. As a retired teacher I always wondered why kids were allowed to bounce around the buses as well, since so much fuss was made about car seat belts and car seats, booster seats, etc.

My gut reaction has always been that no one wants to pay to retrofit all the current school buses with seat belts, therefore any safety study is skewed to make sure that bus seatbelts seem to cause no increase in safety.
I was in a bus wreck as a kid. The front end of the station wagon which hit the side of the bus was smashed enough that it might have been totaled. One kid on the bus smacked his head into the window and had to be checked by a paramedic. I don't think he would have been helped by a belt because it was side-to-side movement. Other than that the wreck didn't feel much worse than when the driver hit a curb as she often did.

Well the difference is that that is not the title to the story per fox news.
It says: Bus Overturns in Georgia; 11 Students Taken to Hospital for Treatment.
