If you’re going to do a clean install, once you have run all Microsoft critical updates and reinstalled your software - create a disk clone. Then whenever you have a problem that you can’t easily resolve you can just reimage with the cloned copy in less than 10 minutes rather than spend hours reinstalling everything.

Formating a drive is not practical for most people.
Yes, I've been forced to restore my computer a few times.
Sometimes it's a pain, cause you gotta save everything you want first, but it get's rid of the problems.
Reformat? Agreed. It’s the best solution.
After I reformatted I bought a good computer cleaner from Webroot.com (Window Washer). Every time I shut down I use it’s feature, which removes all the tracks and cookies. I’ve had no problems since.
