Michelle's Colorful Ivy Thesis (Are Barack Obama & Michelle Obama Divisive Bigots?
New York Post ^ | 2/24/2008 | Jennifer Fermino

In her senior thesis at Princeton, Michelle Obama wrote that her experiences at the Ivy League university made her "far more aware" of race and determined to work for the black community.

The 23-year-old school papoer, posted on the web site Politico.com, shows the young Michelle Lavaughn Robinson struggling to feel at home in the university.

...For the thesis, "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Comnmunity," Obama sent out a survey to 400 black alumni, asking them about their racial attitudes before, during and after their stints on campus.

Eighty-nine responded to the study, which Obama said "attempts to examine the effects of a Princeton education on blacks."

She said she found that black students came together while on the msotly white campus.

"It is possible that Black individuals chose to or felt pressured to come together. . . because of the belief that Blacks must join in solidarity to combat a White oppressor," she wrote.

White oppressor? Does she still feel this way? has she renounced this thesis of hers?

Barack Obama is an active member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, a south Chicago church that he has attended for 20 years. Trinity UCC's motto is "Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian."

The church's 12 precepts and coventatl statement are called the "Black Value System."

Links to this below in the first post.

Some of them:

2. Committment to the Black Community

3. Committment to the Black Family

6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic

11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System

12. Personal committment to embracement of the Black Value System

If this "Black Value System" isn't divisive bigotry, then what is?

If a "White Value System" for poor whites (either generationally poor or not) is divisive bigotry, then would a "Black Value System" be divisive bigotry too?

Some say that we must recognize what happened to blacks in the past.

Past discrimination against blacks doesn't justify present divisive bigotry. Do two wrongs make it right?

Barack Obama has had years to denounce the "Black Value System". Did he denounce this even 5 or 10 years ago?

She didn’t feel at home? Maybe she should have stopped pointing the finger at Evil Whitey and blamed the affirmative action quota that landed her there, possibly throwing her in over her head academically by her own admission.

“Blacks must join in solidarity to combat a White oppressor,” she wrote.”

Barack Obama attended the most exclusive prep school in Hawaii paid for by his white grandparents. Michelle Obama was an affirmative action student at Princeton who herself has admitted that based on her grades and test scores she would not have been accepted had she been white. These people get everything handed to them and then they attack our country and say they have never been proud of America. They say they are victims of the “white oppressor.” The Obamas are typical of the left in America and it is scary to think they will be anywhere near the White House.

I read this article and the two links you furnished. The links have a point of view, but surely contain some interesting information.

When you want to assess yourself or someone else as to their inner identity or self you can look at the follow: (1)How they look; (2)What others think of them; (3)And, what they do.

This will, ordinarily, give you a rough idea of a person's identity in contemporary America.

The danger for Blacks and others who strongly identify with racial characteristics and history is they lose their actual identity as individuals. The idea of race influences all of their perspectives such that nothing can be understood without it.

Blacks in America have characteristically had great difficulty with this. They are race conscious 100% of the time, or so it seems, and assume that whites are similarly conscious of their race 100% of the time. Very hard to break but many do. Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas and Shelby Steele all would be examples, but, even here, I suspect if we could know their inner lives more, they might confess this is a constant struggle.

After all, an African-American wakes up every day, looks in the mirror and sees a black person. What is crucial, is they somehow overcome this sufficient to have a real grasp of being an individual, being responsible as an indivicual and not accepting their or other's opinion of them as the final determinant on how they think of themselves.

I only listed three things contributing to identity; however, there is an additional one--Heidegger would label it Dasein. There is a part of us that can reflect on the other three and respond to our identity and judge whether we are authentic or inauthentic. IMHO it is inauthentic to see yourself so much as a part of a group that you lack the perspectivism necessary to render individual judgement and decision making.

Did the white oppressor waive admission standards and subsidize tuition for Shelley and Milhaus to attend the Ivy League? Just askin!

Wonder if she’s made a contribution to the United Negro College Fund since she felt persecuted at Princeton.

Sounds like someone wasn’t grateful for her Affirmative Action advantage. I’ll bet the American-American who’s place she took, would have appreciated the opportunity.

Michelle's lucky she got to go to Princeton.

When I was in college, women could not pursue an undergraduate degree there.

Who suffered the greater discrimination?

>>>”I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don’t belong,” Obama wrote.

“Regardless of the circumstances under which I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second.”<<<

This quote from Michelle Obama’s thesis is the pinnacle of introspective self-delusion combined with self-pity.

Once, when I was a young teacher, I told a Native elder that her child didn’t “seem to care.” The elder told me that I couldn’t read her child’s mind and walked out angry.

Michelle Obama seems to believe that she can intuit the feelings and thoughts of others based on their race and her own feelings about race. In any other context, that would the essence of racism.

By the way, Michelle, when I first saw you, I didn’t think about race at all. I thought you were a really good looking woman.

Now you can write a book about being marginalized for looks and gender. I won’t buy it, though, no more than I’m buying your weak thesis.

. . .worse, now she wants an 'Affirmative Action President program'. She has a husband who is as qualified for the Presidency as she was for Princeton. He deserves it! And America cannot wait; and neither can he. Meantime, all resistance, not unlike what Michele experienced at Princeton, is attributed to 'racism'.

Meantime, Obama's 'Black Value System' explains why his white parentage and his white Grandmother; are overlooked.

Ironically; at least 'genetically'; Obama IS an 'Uncle Tom'.

Michelle’s obvious unease at Princeton reflects her intuitive sense of the phoniness of white (and black) liberal “diversity.” Liberals love only themselves, and are incapable of true empathy with those who have gone through hardship.

Michelle Obama hasn’t said one thing about the US before the year 2007 that would make her proud to be a citizen of the greatest nation in the history of mankind that has placed her amongst the most privileged of the elite in this country.
I never thought that I would see a spouse of a presidential candidate who was more of a radical, narcissistic, arrogant, hubristic, self-entitled, and maddening solipsist than Hilary Clinton. To the nation’s dismay, I think we have found her. She is the loose cannon Benito Mussolini face of liberal fascism that Barack Hussein Obama is so careful to hide. Barack Obama is more practiced at keeping the mask up. But in the liberal Hyde Park ghetto that she lives in in Chicago, attending cocktail parties with her coterie of liberal U of C academics, Black South Side DemonRat pols, public sector sinecures, NGO flacks and liberal Sun Times columnists, EVERBODY she knows thinks and feels this way. She was probably SHOCKED at the firestorm that has ensued.

Isn’t it interesting that both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are disciples of Saul Alinsky and the leftist view of America that Alinsky promoted.

"It is possible that Black individuals chose to or felt pressured to come together. . . because of the belief that Blacks must join in solidarity to combat a White oppressor," she wrote.

The "white oppressor" is paying her 323,000 dollars a year to be the VP of 'Communit Relations" at a Chicago hospital.

The "white oppressor" Rezko provided them with a yard free of charge.

The "white oppressor" elected her empty suit messianic husband to the United State Senate.

And FWIW, the "white oppressor" somehow allows Mr and Mrs Obama to spend more money on their kids dance and music lessons than most people in Illinois make.

Michelle Obanma, is simply Militant.

She has no love for this country, shes grateful for nothing.

The difference between Michelle Obama and me.....I'm grateful to live here and see the opportunity available to ALL.

Michelle Obama for all her success, still feels shes owed something by everyone, a bitter militant woman.
