PARIS, France (AP) -- Police said Friday that a body found in the River Seine was that of Katoucha Niane, a former top model for Yves Saint Laurent and other top designers who spoke out against female genital mutilation after quitting the catwalks. The body of former top model Katoucha Niane has been found in the river Seine. 1 of 2 Paris judicial police said her body was found Thursday near the Garigliano bridge in Paris. Police said an autopsy showed no signs of foul play, pointing to the possibility that she may have accidentally fallen into the river. She had been missing since January and was last seen returning home from a party. She lived in a houseboat near Paris' Alexandre III bridge, and her handbag was later found on the boat. Katoucha became one of the first African women to attain stardom as a supermodel, becoming a muse for Saint Laurent and posing for top photographers like Irving Penn.

Apparently so. He’s toast now, at least for a time.

Sheesh, some people just don’t get it, and he’s one of them.

Nice find! That’s my all-time favorite Gahan Wilson cartoon. You don’t have that in a hi-res version, do you?

No, sorry. I managed to find that one after a bunch of googling, if that helps.

She was brave.
Think about it.

Here in our country you can say just about anything about government or whatever.

But say something (just about ANYTHING) about a certain fairly large segment of the population (who shall remain nameless) and you are literally risking your life.

YOU ARE RISKING YOUR LIFE!!!

But because of an ideal, called “freedom of religion”, we have to live with that threat over our heads.
I don’t think that’s what the founders were planning for.

While I’m no medical examiner, I’d certainly expect some decomposition of the body if she had been dead and in the water for over a month. In that bottom picture, I don’t see any indication of any decomposition at all. Where’s she been for the past month?

It is winter, I think she’s essentially ‘been on ice’ all this time.

Is the Seine frozen?

I don’t think the entire river would have been frozen. And she would have still been in water. Interesting.

Can anyone decipher this or know if temps like this would prevent the decomp & bloating that generally takes place in water?

"Where’s she been for the past month?"

You raise a very valid point, and one I confess had not occurred to me.

The question is, “Mutilations, beheadings, suicide bombings, rape, incest, sodomy, beastiality are all characteristics of what 12th century depraved religion?”
