A Georgia man was arrested for murder after he allegedly shot and killed a motorcyclist who he said was following his teenage daughters home from a Target store, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Richard Harold Gear's two daughters, ages 17 and 19, called their 45-year-old father from their cell phones to tell him they were being followed, the paper reported.
When they got home their father was at the end of their driveway with a pistol, police told the newspaper.

Neither the Alienta Constipation, nor Foxnews is a 'reliable source' here. read the local source for many more facts that refute many of the strawmen being posted here:
local paper detailed article
speaking of strawmen, I'll throw one out here..."Did the police (or reporters) interview the regulars at Klassics Bar a block away from the Target, to see if the Biker spent the afternoon there?" gonna be a sad year for Bogart for sure! Oh, and Gear Rd is no damn cul-de-sac, fer Crisakes!

My thoughts exactly. How is it that the very act of using a gun justifies its use? That's not "justice" it's anarchy...and in this case probably murder. Even a cursory reading of the initial article gives no indication that the girls were in any danger.
"Gear allegedly shot his .40-caliber semiautomatic gun two or three times at Bryan Joseph Mough, 21, after he drove past the house, turned around and made another pass, the Journal-Constitution reported."
I guess all some people need to see is "shot his .40-caliber semiautomatic gun" and they reach for a smoke but somehow miss the kids actual crime of DRIVING PAST THE HOUSE!!!

The only additional details in the local paper account that you posted are that people liked both the shooter and the victim. In fact, the Fox News article has the actual incident exactly as the local paper. The paper adds local color but no additional facts.

Oops, sorry CRBDeuce, there was one additional fact from the local paper that I missed.
Mough drove past the house, turned around and made another pass, and Gear fired the .40-caliber semiautomatic gun two or three times, shooting Mough once in the back, the sheriff said.
Neither Fox nor the "Alienta Constipation" seem to have known that Gear shot a 21 year old kid in the back. My apologies.

For the record:
The likely route from the Target store would have taken the kids down 78 to 8 (Atlanta Hwy) and then into a small maze of streets leading to Gear. Once on Gear, the kid on the cycle would have had to have known that Gear, a few miles west, would have turned into Luke Circle and then crossed Glenn Jackson Road, which he would have had to have known to take west (or left) to an odd frontage type road called Jackson Point in order to get back to 8...
or he could have just turned around and gone back the way he came.

"The ensuing rush of adrenaline morphs the fear of physical harm into anger."
Then you have no business being on public roads. Get a dirt bike and hit the trails otherwise you will likely die on the road.
Your bike is no match for a vehicle -its physics. The day you meat a motorist with a similar temperment as your own will probably be your last.

From the article you linked:
"Mough, who lived in the Lincoln Park subdivision north of Winder, had been employed at a Target in Buford, according to Brittany Williams, Mough's former girlfriend. He was hoping to transfer to the Athens Target and went to the store for an interview Monday, she said."

Why did you cherry-pick one line out of my post and use it to insinuate a position which is contrary to it’s context?

Well, the comment was in a complete paragraph so I had the impression it was your current thinking on idiot drivers. I see you later listed your thinking as best to let stuff go. That’s great. I found out the hard way that there are tons of idiots who don’t consider the road occupied unless they see two lights.

“Oh, and Gear Rd is no damn cul-de-sac, fer Crisakes!” I didn't say it was. What it was is, is a public road where anyone who wants to has a right to turn around and go back they way they came. Gear shot the guy in the back. He is a murderer and his daughters are idiots. They will get what they deserve.

“I don't have good thoughts about his ‘beneficiaries’ collecting on his life insurance policy. “ lol.... 21 year olds don't have life insurance policies. Life insurance policies are for people who have loved ones that would suffer financially if they were to die. Twentyone year olds who work at Target would be complete morons if they bought life insurance.
At any rate, your argument makes no sense anyway. Criminals have been shot and killed while breaking into homess and their relatives have won civil damage awards from the homeowners who shot them. This case is a slam dunk. Gear shot him in the back on a public road.
Mough’s family are going to own Gear's house, bank account, retirement account, cars and everything else. Gear's family are going to be left penniless, and Gear is going to spend the rest of his life in prison with a cell mate named Bubba.
