hmm what happened to the Mayans?
I saw an anthropologist on (I think) the History Channel who claimed that Cro Magnons and Neanderthals interbred and there are people walking around today who have a lot of Neanderthal genes. As far as I can tell, this isn’t provable unless they get some Neanderthal DNA to compare with that of people today.
Then there are others who claim that interbreeding between Cro Magnons and Neanderthals would not have been possible.
Two cannibals were sitting by the campfire and one says, “I hate my mother-in-law”. The other replies, “So try the potatoes”.
“Who ate the last Neanderthal?”
Nobody, he had a heart attack. Red meat’s no good for you.
Parts is parts..

I wonder how many people remember where that little soundbite came from?
I have heard they are almost impossible to destroy; even exposing them to radiation won’t destroy them. Probably, any contaminated instruments would have to be safely disposed of.
I will stop laughing in a few minutes here.
I’ll file this under “one guess is as good as another”.
That's a relief! At first glance I thought it said Cannibalism Wiped Out the Netherlands.
And I like Heineken.
Oh, so no surprise that it doesn't show up in the Pleistocene Annals of Neurology, huh?
But then, I'm just a caveman and your world frightens and confuses me.
I'm going to bed. My head is killing me.
Let the dog out before you come up please...
Sheesh!
Prolly there was so much Neanderthal (aka Demonkat) oppresive gub-mint regulation then, that it was impossible for Neanderthal McDonald to get his business started. Thus, sadly, they all died.
Moral of story:
Socialism kills.
Conservatism brings freedom, health, wealth, happiness, non-Neanderthal burgers, and longevity.
I’m reading a pretty good book right now, “Mapping Human History” written by Steve Olson in 2002. The book deals primarily with mapping waves of Hominid migrations leading to human population of the earth, based mostly on genetic research. There has been a substantial amount of DNA recovered from Neandertal fossils. The analysis indicates that Neandertals and Homo sapiens did not interbreed.
This is an interesting field of science with lots of ground breaking work being performed presently.
I recommend the book, if you are interested in biology/anthropology/geology.
“Although it’s not clear why Neanderthals may have eaten each other, research on the Fore determined that maternal kin of certain deceased Fore individuals used to dismember corpses and regarded some human flesh as a valuable food source.”
Neanderthal Stem Cell Research.
“Although it’s not clear why Neanderthals may have eaten each other”
So, did they have an Oral Fixation...?
The Aztecs were done in by the Spanish, although man of their descendents are currently found mainly sou...uh, make that north of Mexico's border.
And there are Iriquois and other tribes that practiced cannibalism still about.
There still may be tribes in Africa, and definately in the SW Pacific.
Though some Neanderthal groups used to bury their dead with flowers, which may even signal the start of recognition of something beyond the existence they knew.
Gee..didn’t he look like H. Ross Perot?
?
That response doesn’t seem to make sense with the post you are responding to. Please clarify.
