Chip Wall can't help but zero in on the little stuff whenever he watches Barack Obama on TV.
It's his old pal Stanley.
For Wall and a few dozen others, Obama on the campaign trail often brings to mind Stanley Ann Dunham, Obama's mother and a strong-willed, unconventional member of the Mercer Island High School graduating class of 1960.

the only child was a ... daughter of a father who wanted a boy so badly that he named her Stanley -- after himself.
Stanley Ann Dunham's formative years, spent not on the Great Plains but more than 1,800 miles away on a small island in the Pacific Northwest.
Stanley Dunham died in 1992, and the Obama campaign declined to make Madelyn Dunham, 84, available.
In 1955, the chairman of the Mercer Island school board, John Stenhouse, testified before the House Un-American Activities Subcommittee that he had been a member of the Communist Party.
The marriage failed. Stanley Ann filed for divorce in 1964 and remarried two years later, when her son was 5. The senior Obama finished his work at Harvard and returned to Kenya, where he hoped to realize his big dreams of taking a place in the Kenyan government.
Years later, Abercrombie and another grad school friend looked up their old pal during a trip through Africa.
At that point, the senior Obama was a bitter man, according to the congressman, feeling that he had been denied due opportunities to influence the running of his country. "He was drinking too much; his frustration was apparent," .
To Abercrombie's surprise, Obama never asked about his ex-wife or his son.

However, I do think it's important to know what his heritage is and how it has influenced his life and his ideology.

I responded to a post about how a picture revealed Obama’s mother as a devoted Mom. She was not. Devoted Moms do not give up their kids for 8 years. I’m currently watching our granddaughter - for a year, so her Mom can attend nursing school full time. If my daughter gave up HER daughter for 8 years, I would not call her a devoted Mom either!
I did not blame Obama for the problem, but he had a weird Mom. He even admitted so in his autobiography, mentioning that it felt strange to realize she had a thing for dark-skinned men. That is a paraphrase - I don’t have the exact quote on hand...but they are in essence HIS words, not mine.
Her behavior is consistent with someone who was ashamed of America and compensated for it by leaving the country. And I assure you, if McCain’s parents had done anything similar, we would hear of it non-stop.
And since I didn’t even know his grandmother was still alive until yesterday, I’d say he doesn’t mention her much. If he feels any gratitude, he conceals it well. Indeed, I’d bet the large majority of people don’t know he was raised by a white couple and attended good schools. It doesn’t fit well in the ‘I’m the first serious black candidate for the Presidency’ story.
Given how Obama seems to default to blame America first, I think his upbringing is pertinent. But then, I just bought two biographies of Nixon, so perhaps I’m just fascinated by what makes people do the things they do.

LOL, it is a bit confusing, and Obama makes it more so with his vague statements.
The reason Stenhouse is significant is that he was a Communist, and principal of the Stanley Ann’s (Barak’s mom) high school. The implication being (I suppose) that there was possibly indoctrination or at least a communist slant at that school. Barak’s Mom was involved with radical politics from her teen years.
It would also be very interesting if we could time travel to the day Senator McCarthy’s Un-American Activities Committee questioned this man? Imagine standing up and saying, “one of the students you’re indoctrinating with communism will have a baby in a few years who will grow up to run for President.” IN OTHER WORDS, the Communist plan to infiltrate American society predicted by McCarthy will come to fruition....?

I called The United Church of Christ in Chicago Illinois, where Senator Obama is a member. If Senator Obama were indeed a Christian, he would be regarded as an “Apostate” which according to Islamic Law, would mean he would be subject to a death warrant imposed upon anyone who leaves Islam, according to the Prophet Mohammed. Many muslims who have left Islam have been murdered on this basis worldwide. Putting Islamic law aside, Obama would still be condemned by Islam. However, in Senator Obama’s instance, Muslims in America are joyously happy to think that Obama would be a Muslim President in the white House. Obama is deceiving America. Muslims would not be endorsing a Muslim who left Islam and became a Christian.
It is important to note that I had four witnesses to this telephone conversation with his church. The date, time and length of the entire conversation can be verified by phone records. The following is the conversation I had with the church, regarding his membership there.
“My name is Usama, and I am from Egypt. I am interested in joining the church. I need to ask some questions please.” The operator directed me to the membership office. I proceeded to ask questions that only a Muslim would ask. “What is the difference between Baptists and your church?” She responded, “ We believe exactly what Baptists believe.” My second question was, “How big is your church and what kind of church is it?” She responded, “We are a Black African American Church and we have 6000 members. I asked, “Do I have to attend Sunday school classes or other meetings to be a member?” She answered “No.” I asked, “Do I have to be baptized to join the church?” She again answered, “No.” I asked, “Do I have to pay a membership Fee to join?” Her answer was No. I then asked her what I needed to do to join. She told me that I needed to attend two Sunday School classes in a row and then I would walk the aisle. I replied, “That sounds easy. One last question please. IF I AM MUSLIM AND I BELIEVE IN PROPHET MOHAMMED, PEACE BE UPON HIM AND I ALSO BELIEVE IN JESUS, PEACE BE UPON HIM, DO I HAVE TO GIVE UP MY ISLAMIC FAITH TO BE A MEMBER IN YOUR CHURCH?” SHE ANSWERED, “NO. WE HAVE MANY MUSLIM MEMBERS IN OUR CHURCH.” It is important to note that Muslims would not attend church.
I asked her, “Is that how Senator Barak Hussein Obama became a member?” There was silence. I went on and stated that his father and step father were Muslims, his grandfathers and grandmother are Muslims, his uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces and cousins are Muslims and everyone in his family in Kenya are Muslims. She replied to me, “I am sorry, I cannot answer these questions for you.” I of course sensed she was uncomfortable. I ended the conversation by saying to her, “YOUR CHURCH HAS DONE GREAT HARM TO THIS COUNTRY BY COVERING A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING AND THAT WOLF IS SENATOR BORAK HUSSEIN OBAMA.” End of phone call.
This is fraud to the people of the United States of America.

While it might be useful to describe where someone “came from”, it’s also a tenet of American life that you are not necessarily who your parents were. In a land of opportunity, you have the ability (and the obligation) to “rise above your raising” when necessary.
Obama, the prophet of idiots. He who has accomplished nothing in his life other than academic achievement. The rising star of a small Kenyan town where a street bears his name. A town that is banking on American tax dollars if their kin is elected President of the United States.

She is not his biological grandmother and she was never a factor in his upbringing.
