Well, they’re saying on FOX that it was a three month assignment, and for all they know, he’s on his way back to London now.

Drudge broke it. Everyone else in the media had kept silent about it until now.

Since when does Drudge answer to the Crown of England?

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe the reason it leaked out was so that they could start flushing terrorists out using Harry for bait? Maybe Harry himself agreed to it?

Jan. 2, 2008: Prince Harry fires a 50mm machine gun at an observation post near the town of Garmisir, Afghanistan, close to Forward Operating Base Delhi. Prince Harry has been serving on the front line in Afghanistan with the British Army, according to an announcement by Britain's Ministry of Defence.

Drudge didn't scoop anyone. He was simply the one to break his commitment.

Did Drudge agree to assist the British government with a media blackout, or did he just find out about it and then report it? You are making an accusation that Matt Drudge was "in" on the coverup.

The planned deployment had been disclosed to reporters, with no specific date, and was not reported previously under a pool agreement between the Ministry of Defense and all major news organizations operating in Britain, including The Associated Press. The news blackout was intended to reduce the risk to the prince and his regiment.

Prince Harry in the Military The news embargo was broken, however, after reports of the prince’s deployment were leaked by an Australian magazine and a German newspaper, and then reported on a U.S. Web site, the Drudge Report.

The entire UK media were aware of Prince Harry's deployment and agreed to show restraint.

Something Mr Drudge is obviously incapable of doing.

Since when does American media ever "show restraint"? Secondly, since when does Matt Drudge answer to the British government as to what stories he will or won't report?

” ...the life of his fellow soldiers as Harry would be a prime target.”

That’s the very reason his request to serve in Iraq was declined. It’s not just his life but all around him at risk (even more risk than usual as such a rich targeet).

Brits have reason to be proud of him and his service.

Love this part:

“...No showers’

The prince spent Christmas Day in a former Taleban madrassa, sleeping on a camp bed and having to wash outdoors.

In an interview while in Helmand Province, Harry - a member of the Household Cavalry - talked about life as a soldier on the front line.

“I haven’t really had a shower for four days, I haven’t washed my clothes for a week.

“It’s very nice to be sort of a normal person for once, I think it’s about as normal as I’m going to get.”

Living like the true Brits of a bygone era; adventuring, soldiering and civilising the heathens.

To Harry:

Well Done.

To the media: hope you have a hard time washing the blood off your hands.

the prince is no longer a child but a man and should be in battle.

And this is the first MAN that the royal family has produced in a couple of generations. The other males have remained boys into adulthood. It is good to see one of them make it. It is a shame there are 2 others in line for the throne ahead of him.

Saying Prince Harry is in Afghanistan is not exactly giving away his GPS coordinates. When any soldier or Marine is mentioned by name in a local newspaper as serving in a particular country it’s not exactly as if the article gives away a secret tactical battle plan with specifics of troop deployment.
