(CHICAGO)(February 8, 2007) Chicago-based Internet journalist, broadcaster and critic Andy Martin will hold a news conference Friday, February 9th at 11:00 A.M. to announce that U. S. Senator Barack Obama is a citizen of Kenya and became a citizen of Kenya under the Independence Constitution of Kenya in 1963. Obama has never renounced his Kenyan citizenship. He is also a U. S. Citizen.
For our Obama Week leading up to Barry Os announcement on Saturday that he feels qualified to lead the free world, ContrarianCommentary.com unleashed a worldwide team of constitutional law experts to delve into Kenyan law and the question of Obamas citizenship. They were also participating in our CIA-style psychological profile of Obama that will be released Saturday in Chicago. And what we discovered was amazing, a political blockbuster, says Executive Editor Andy Martin.

Posted for the purpose of showing similar issues have been raised re Obama, but has the NYT mentioned it?
This is getting ridiculous. Obama was born to an American citizen. That makes him a U.S. citizen.
The NY Times claim that McCains birth in the Panama Canal is nothing but ana attempt to neutralize this claim on Obama.
Yes, I agree with you 100%. It’s ridiculous. It’s equally ridiculous to raise any issue about John McCain’s citizenship.
In fact, it is MORE ridiculous for the NYT to raise this point against McCain. Unless they are deliberately setting out to enlarge their reputation for being anti-military.
I am all for a do-over. Throw them both out and start over.

I agree. They are grasping at straws trying to undermine the
election. As much as I dislike Obama and McCain, the NY Times and these other wacko sites aren’t doing anyone any service by failing to report what the Constitution says about the eligibility of the President.
This really isn’t relevant to anything as it’s not going to change minds. Those committed to Obama will simply view it as another feather in Obama’s cap since he’s truly a citizen of the World and this is a proud reminder of his African heritage as opposed to being merely a citizen of this country.
Is his mother still alive?
Has she ever been interviewed?
I posted it only for the purpose of juxtaposing it against the NYT story on McCain’s citizenship.
Didn’t you get the memo? We’re not allowed to criticize Obama. Makes us look small minded.
Wow! Hadn’t seen that.
Thanks.
I feel strongly that Obama should renounce his Kenyan citizenship, if this is true.
His loyalties (if he has any) would be split.
Times raired the same “issue” on Goldwater. Said he was born in Arizona, before it became a state.
There’s an interesting debate in the blogosphere, it seems, about what obligation (if any) Obama would have to his “homeland” if he were to become President. There are people saying he is “needed” more in Kenya than in the U.S.
This is not something that it seems Obama has encouraged, but the fact is that such ideas naturally will occur and be discussed in a situation such as this.
Kenyan citizenship requirements were changed after the aborted coup attempt in 1982 to require that BOTH parents be Kenyan citizens, even if the birth was in Kenya.
Unless Obama’s American mother took Kenyan ciizenship, that leaves him out.
