Our government is laughing at us. We've been played for suckers on almost every front.

The invasion by illegal aliens is no accident. It is being actively supported by both parties and all levels of government.

Any time I hear someone talk about Fedgov claiming that taking away more of our freedoms will lead to more security I laugh. Unfortunately, you find lots of support for shredding the 4th amendment right here on Free Republic.

In all honesty I really think that something *like* the “virtual” fence is useful but ONLY in conjunction with a REAL fence that is more substantial that two runs of chain link.

State-level laws are our only recourse against illegal invasion, the Feds will do nothing. Enforcment of employer sanctions (fines/jail) and landlord sanctions is more important than the fence.

the feds think we are really stupid and can't figure out that the govt has NO intention of ever securing the borders. give us a freakin break already

You're exactly right, already at this point the culture is being lost, and with 6 8 10 kids per family it's only a matter of time. McCain and his buddies win, only what they have won who'd want?

At this point if Pelosi wants to start the impeachment hearing I’m up for it, as long as it’s for failing the protect the nation.

Isn’t it required BY LAW that the Duncan Hunter fence MUST BE BUILT? And completed by a certain date?

Well, then, build a REAL fence. All a virtual fence will do is allow us to watch the invasion on closed-circuit television.

WTF, bring back about 30,000 of the troops we have in S. Korea and have them man the borders - north and south.

But Kim Jong-Il will be so ronery!

Kay Bailey Hutchinson gutted Hunter’s law last month.

“Isn’t it required BY LAW that the Duncan Hunter fence MUST BE BUILT? And completed by a certain date?”

That was true until Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) gutted the Secure Fence Act a couple months ago.

Bottom line: Your voice and THE LAW are completeley worthless to our government. The only reason the government even glances in your direction is to seize money from your paycheck. That’s all your good for in their eyes.

La Raza has more power in congress and the White House than all law abiding Americans combined.

Congress passed the Secure Fence Act of 2006. The Senate passed it overwhelmingly, 80-19. The House passed it 283-138. And on October 26, 2006, President Bush signed it into law!

Specifically the Secure Fence Act of 2006 called for the installation of over 700 miles of double-reinforced fence along our nation’s southern border.
After promising to build the fence Congressional leaders smirked and winked at each other and, in the dark of night, passed a $555 billion omnibus spending bill that contained a tiny amendment revoking the mandate that the fence be built as the Secure Fence Act had specified!

Hey Congress, we’ve got a message for you!STOP THE SONG AND DANCE. STOP THE SHELL GAMES. A REAL FENCE WILL WORK... BUILD IT!

While we’re on the subject, here are some questions that need to be asked:
Suppose this electronic gadgetry works and we sight a platoon of illegal aliens skipping across the border, will our Border Patrol agents be allowed to pursue them? Or will they be confined to watching them on closed circuit TV?
And since you and I will have to pick up the check for this failed system, can we start paying the IRS in “virtual dollars?”
And while we’re at it, why not insist our politicians start inserting “virtual earmarks” into the General Appropriations Bill?
If these questions sound ludicrous, then ask yourself... why should the American people be satisfied with a “virtual fence?”

Take action now!

Thanks for that link!

The next time I go to Washington DC I am going to go to the White House and demand that they remove the fence around it and replace it with a ‘virtual fence’.

I guess there is some good news in this report. McCain says he will secure the border first. It looks like he couldn’t give amnesty until his second term.

How well are they monitored? If they are well monitored, where are the numbers of agents able to respond to EVERY recorded incursion?

Good point. Judging by February 2008 Muster report from the Minutemen, the Border Patrol has big problems running down illegals unless they are old, lame or sick.

In the first evening shift MCDC volunteers spotted 18 suspected illegal aliens on Friday night and spent two hours assisting Border Patrol who responded to the sighting. Using our "eye in the sky" (EITS) thermal cameras volunteers directed Border Patrol agents, who chased the 18 individuals numerous times over a two hour period. Yet 17 of the 18 managed to escape apprehension by the Border Patrol agents. Every time agents would get near the group of suspected illegal aliens they would run in all directions, only to re- group and attempts to continue their travels northward. This cat and mouse game continued on for hours until Border Patrol agents finally gave up due to a shift change.

Virtual Smertual...Give me the old fashioned double fence with a no-mans land in the middle.

That's my idea --- start pouring the **** concrete already. But, of course, they never had any intention of actually controlling the border, they just wanted us to shut-up.
