WANA, Pakistan (Reuters) - A missile struck a house in a Pakistani region known as a safe haven for al Qaeda militants early on Thursday, killing at least eight suspected militants, residents and intelligence officials said.
The attack took place in near Kaloosha village in the South Waziristan tribal region on the Afghan border.
"The blast shook the entire area, about eight people were killed," Behlool Khan, a resident of the area, told Reuters.

WANA: A missile struck a house and a madarssah in South Waziristan early on Thursday, killing at least 12 people and injuring several others.
Sources said that the missile targeted a house and a madarssah in Azam Warsik area of South Waziristan killing 12 and wounded several. Most of the dead were Afghan students and also some foreign extremists.
According to sources, the missile was allegedly fired from US predator plane.
Looks like we got Gadahn’s notebook computer and we blew him to bits in the last Predator strike a month ago.
The house that was hit belonged to a Pashtun tribesman, Sher Mohammad Malikkheil, also known as Sheroo, who was known to have links with militants.

Islamabad, 28 Feb. (AKI) - Thirteen Islamist militants were killed overnight and 10 wounded in an air raid carried out by a drone in Pakistan's lawless Waziristan tribal area in the northwest, Arabic satellite TV channel Al Jazeera reported.
Four Arab militants and the same number from Turkemenistan fighting alongside Pakistani Taliban were among the victims, Al Jazeera said.
The missile dropped by the drone struck a house in the village of Azam Warzak, close to the Afghan border in South Waziristan, stronghold of an al-Qaeda linked Pakistani Taliban commander.
The group targeted by the airstrike is believed to be responsible for a series of attacks against the Pakistan army carried out in the area.
