Mega-Church Pastor in Texas Backs McCain
By Elisabeth Bumiller
SAN ANTONIO Senator John McCain got support on Wednesday from an important corner of evangelical Texas when the pastor of a San Antonio mega-church, Rev. John C. Hagee, endorsed Mr. McCain for president.
Mr. Hagee, who argues that the United States must join Israel in a preemptive, biblically prophesized military strike against Iran that will lead to the second coming of Christ, praised Mr. McCain for his pro-Israel views.
John McCain has publicly stated his support of the state of Israel, pledging that his administration will not permit Iran to have nuclear weapons to fulfill the evil dreams of President Ahmadinejad to wipe Israel off the map,' Mr. Hagee said at a news conference at the Omni Hotel in San Antonio.
Mr. Hagee also praised Mr. McCain for his solid, pro-life voting record for the past 24 years.'

I think Hagee is smart enough to make a personal endorsement without entangling his church.

He made the endorsement from a hotel on a Wednesday night, not from his pulpit.

Hagee has recorded robo-calls for McCain that are going out all over the state of Texas now.
Hagee’s claims about how solid McCain is on abortion are just plain ignorant.
I can’t think of anyone that has done more damage to the cause of restoring respect for human life than McCain. No one has done more to empower the leftwing forces in the GOP that have thwarted decades of labor by pro-life conservatives.

Is Hagee awaiting his own 12th Iman?

John McCain is far from perfect, but his record on human life issues is satisfactory.

You make a good point! Why bother! :-) ...yeah...another discussion for certain! But you've caused me to wonder now WHY the likes of Hagee would be so interested in politics...at least enough to endorse the leftist, Juan McPain.
Perhaps it's so he can hope we'll nuke Iran. He really needs to study up. I know he's a world reknown end times scholar, but Persia (Iran) isn't even mentioned in the battle at the plain of Meggido (Armeggedon).
Everybody's got a stinking opinion about what's coming, and how to vote, or who to endorse.
I have an opinion as well, but mine is that we're simply going to get screwed as a nation...no matter what. At least it's shaping up that way!

Maybe to you. Not to me. Not even close. Every time McCain says anything that sounds the least bit pro-life, it’s with a knowing wink and a nod to his real friends, who are all pro-aborts.

It won’t be the Demos who would do that but the Republican-”controlled” IRS!

Pastor Hagee is making his endorsement now to “get it over with” so he won’t have to struggle in dismay at what is happening until the fall campaign.

How tragic that at least half of our “prolife” people aren’t really prolife at all but are manipulating conservative voters. And, to borrow from Reagan, they have all BEEN BORN!

Hagee aint dangerous partner. He’s a straight shooter. Take the biblical reference out, and he’s preaching the same thing we are on this site.
To: Prokopton
If only he was also Pro-Constitution and Pro-U.S. Citizen I would feel much better. Me too Prokpton. Im on board, but not excited about it.

Hagee is no more dangerous than you. He specializes in Biblical Prophecy and the End Times. He is mostly right on. I’ve read several of his books.
