Only the headline is posted. You don't suppose the NYT is trying to make sure there is NO republican candidate, do you?

Someone should have informed him he wasn’t a citizen when he was at the Hanoi Hilton.

The reason that the Founders didn’t want a Natural Born Latinamerican to be President of the United States is obvious in John Jay’s letter to George Washington which is the thing that predicated the clause.
They wouldn’t have wanted a Latinamerican leading an invasion of Latinamericans into the US that promised to change the whole fabric of US culture and demographics. The Founders were indeed prescient.

THAT explains why Carter tried so hard to give up the canal treaty, and Clinton tried so hard to turn it over to China! It was all in prep for a McCain candidacy!
zOMG!

I haven’t read the whole thread yet- but my first reaction is...they KNEW this when they endorsed him, didn’t they?
I have to go read the thread now- but I think this issue has already been de-bunked..

"MCCAIN'S BIRTHPLACE IN CANAL ZONE RAISES ELIGIBILITY QUESTIONS...I don't think there is any problem with this.
Read Title 8 of the U.S. Code, Section 1401. It breaks down the qualifying variables for a person born to US parents.

How the hell can there be almost 200 posts about a headline?! He could have been born in Bent Nose, Iowa and I still wouldn’t vote for him.

So children of our military who were born on our bases abroad would not qualify to be President? How ridiculous!
Too bad for Hillary that Obama was born in Hawaii two years after statehood, or she could have tried to get him disqualified.

But, his parents were married in Caesar’s Bar, Tijuana, Mexico. :>)
To: Kay Ludlow
Didn’t the NYTimes just endorse him for President? Now they are saying he was never eligible to run for the office?
They are just starting to sound insane now.

He was born to U.S. citizens. That's all that matters.

I guess this means ME too, since I was born in Japan.
Fine then. If I can't be President, I'm not paying taxes.
