Well, Barrack Hussein Sinclair Obama just needs to be treated with respect, like all communists should be.

I have to agree with the majority of the sentiments expressed on this post. The last 7 years, with President Bush continually attempting to be nice to these people, should serve as an example that being polite, nice, and respectful, serves no purpose.
I am tired of being called a facist or a Nazi. I am tired of people saying I want to harm/starve/kill children or the eldery. This is my country and men such as Adams, Washington, Lee, Grant, Audie Murphy, Nimitz, Chesty Puller, Ike, Patton, MacArthur, Pershing, Gridley, McCandless, and yes - even John McCain along with his father and grandfather, risked their lives so that I may live free, with liberty not license. Many millions more unnamed soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen risked their lives, with millions paying the ultimate sacrifice, so that I may be able to say what I want.
They don't like the use of Hussein? Then explain the reason why we should not use it. Explain the connotation, the connection. Are you or are you not proud of the name? Explain yourself, Senator B. Hussein Obama! I say this as my right as an American citizen. By my right as a free man, established not by men or government but by God. I served in the United States Navy to not only protect that right for myself but also for my fellow citizens and - hopefully - eventually - for the entire world. And no one - not Rove, not Obama, not anyone on Free Republic - will silence me nor tell me what I can say or when I can say it.

Hasn’t Rove done enough to wreck the Republican party?
He needs to shush and let leaders step up.

Well, I’m late to this thread. I have always had mixed feelings about Rove. He’s very smart, but he has always favored the RINOs when he could, and not always to the party’s advantage. Is the Republican Party really better off for having put Arnie in California instead of Bill Simon? That was mostly Rove’s doing.
On the other hand, give him a break. What has he done here. Just look at the title of this piece in The Atlantic: Don’t “Hussein” Obama. He has managed to remind all the readers of this piece that Obama’s middle name is Obama, while urging politeness. In other words, he’s being pretty smart here.
Whether he really means that “Hussein” should never be mentioned remains a question. Somebody has to speak the truth, if not necessarily party officials.
I’m conflicted here because McCain is such a lousy candidate I don’t think this kind of trickery can do much good.

Most media outlets refuse to call our president, “President Bush”...they call him Mr. Bush, ala Michael Moore.

"Rove also said that Republicans should refer to Hillary Clinton as "Sen. Clinton," rather than "Hillary."
Hillary needs to change all of her campaign literature from "Hillary" to "Clinton" if Rove wants that.

I watched a bit of the warm up for MCcain by Cunningham, I believe that was his name, and thought it juvenile and tedious but not out of the political realm of making barbs at the opponent. What really ticks me is that McCain himself does not respect the sensetivity of his own party members. He still takes shots at Donald Rumsfeld, a fellow veteran and tremendously patriotic man who served as sec of defense for Pres Bush. He probably won the Florida primary by lying about Mitt Romney not supporting the Iraq surge, and repeated the lie during the Calif debate. This pattern reminds me of the years when Bob Michael and Bob Dole were content to accommodate the RATS over conservative Republican objections. We are in for a rough presidential campaign season. Going to be hard to shore up support for McCain if this nonsense continues.

Now the liberals listen to Rove. Hussien is Obama’s middle name. It’s fair game and there is no need to censor.

Rove - Just shut up!
You turned the 2004 landslide into a near loss.
Your push for amnesty and open borders caused the 2006 debacle.
Just shut up. Go to K St. and make your millions advising equally stupid politicians how to screw up their campaigns - but just shut up!

Right wing figures are set to ignore Rove's advice. Rush Limbaugh used Obama's middle name more than a year ago, and Ann Coulter regularly uses the middle name, once calling him "President Hussein." Karl Rove is correct, when has Rush or "I need a cheeseburger" Ann Coulter, won an actual election. The answer is never.

Personal religious convictions again bubbled to the surface of the presidential campaign with a supporter of Hillary Clinton referring to the Islamic faith of Barack Obama’s father and ...
The former senator Bob Kerrey, a notoriously outspoken politician and failed presidential candidate in 1992, stirred the pot when he endorsed Mrs Clinton and then proceeded to compliment Mr Obama for his understanding of Islam.
I like the fact that his name is Barack Hussein Obama, and that his father was a Muslim and that his paternal grandmother is a Muslim, Mr Kerrey said. There’s a billion people on the planet that are Muslims, and I think that experience is a big deal.

- Wants to stop the war on terror (radical)
- Wants to end wiretapping program (radical)
- Wants to downsize the military (radical)
- Open borders and amnesty (radical)
- Wants to raise taxes and kill off capitalism (radical)
- Wants to eliminate Bush tax cuts (radical)
- Wants to destroy our health care system (radical)
- Wants to introduce more socialist spending (radical)
- Wants to end school choice (radical)
- Does not salute the flag (radical)
