No less an authority figure than Karl Rove has warned Republican operatives from demagoguing Barack Obama's middle name.
At a closed door meeting of GOP state executive directors in late January, Rove said the safest way to refer to Obama would be to use his honorific, "Sen. Obama."
"The context was, you're not going to stimatize this guy. You shouldn't underestimate him," one of the executive directors said. Rove said that the use of "Barack Hussein Obama" would perpetuate the notion that Republicans were bigoted and would hurt the party.
Rove also said that Republicans should refer to Hillary Clinton as "Sen. Clinton," rather than "Hillary."
Right wing figures are set to ignore Rove's advice. Rush Limbaugh used Obama's middle name more than a year ago, and Ann Coulter regularly uses the middle name, once calling him "President Hussein." So does Michael Savage, who once asked whether Obama was a "so-called friendly Muslim" or one more "radical."

But, it works. HUSSEIN reminds everybody about SADDAM Hussein. In politics, you use everything you can.
Godd advice that should be fllowed as soon as ALL DEMS refer to President Bush as President Bush.
“Its still the official law in Saudi Arabia, home of islam.”
It is the official law in a few Muslim countries (for males), although it’s apparently not frequently used. It’s certainly not universal among Muslims. It is not law in the countries Obama comes from, and I’ve seen no cases where countries like Saudi Arabia send death squads to other countries to murder apostates.
Basically Bush won twice because of his support for gun ownership, and nothing else. Rove is not now and never was a "genius".
“You took your tinfoil hat off. Put it back on and it will all make sense.”
Got it. Things are much clearer now.
Interesting how this thread has drawn a number of noobs. You are correct that respect has to be earned. Same goes for noobs. At least one of the noobs here doesn’t understand the meaning of “thought police.”
Ever since Republican politicians got control and abandoned principle, emotionalism is all they have had to rely on. Now it has infected the party from top to bottom.
Sad but true.
We should be attacking him on the issues. Instead, we have this childish nonsense. It plays right into his hands, making conservatives look like fools.
I guess it shouldn't surprise us. The GOP left its substantive issues in the dust a long time ago. But now's the time to reclaim them.
I like it!

I lost mine. Anybody got a spare?
Rove was the one that had President Bush talk about his immigration “guest worker” program during 06....He kept saying it until the base was thoroughly fed up and stayed home. Rove is a genius.
Not at all. I am acutely aware, however, that this is a conservative political forum, and you are using tactics straight from the Clinton playbook.
B-Ho. It kinda has that “Rapper” ring to it. Hussian should like it too!
Always wanting to be nice and classy to those who harm us, who smear us, afraid of those who have destroyed lives, reputations, and livelihoods of our those on the Right with impunity for decades, the MSM/DNC.
If only we could be even nicer, maybe they would love us, leave us alone, give us good press, call us nice names, give us compliments, make us feel good.
1) Bush made it quite clear while campaigning for President in 200 that he'd sign the Clinton '94 gun ban renewal if it reached his desk.
2) Bush's DOJ filed a brief to SCOTUS last a couple weeks ago that effectively supports the D.C. gun ban.
He's no friend to the 2A.
Hasn’t Rove done enough to wreck the Republican party?
He needs to shush and let leaders step up.
We can’t mention his failure to put his hand over his heart, either.
In fact, the next memo will prohibit mentioning him by name at all. He will be known as BHO- oops- make that BO-—errr-
how ‘bout just “B”.
Scratch that- someone from Risk Management says “B” is the same letter that ‘bigot” starts with. That’s a no go.
We’ll get back to you on the proper way to address him as soon as we can figure one out.
200 = 2000
