Can someone tell me why this is flying under the radar of the boomers who will be the beneficiaries of SS and who should be dead set against B.O.? They're not concerned that the system will be bankrupted earlier rather than later? Or is it that B.O. plans on taxing the "rich" to keep SS afloat while giving money they did not earn to the "working" poor. I am afraid my family will be considered "rich."

Like many conservatives, we grew up with nothing and have worked very, very hard to get to where we are and are by no means rich. While some people were watching TV or enjoying themselves, we were going to school on our own dime or working. What will the incentive be to do so if those who are too lazy get the same reward? A society that takes according to ability and gives according to need produces a lot of need and little ability.

I am feeling the same way I felt on September 11, 2001. This isn't supposed to happen here. BTW, love your Ayn Rand reference.

If you do not think that Muslims are beyond lying about what they believe in, you are mistaken, my friend.

Muslims don't have the market cornered on lying, not by any means.

So if we are to question Obama's claimed faith in Christ Jesus, is there any reason not to question the faith of our President George W. Bush?

For the record, our President has stated that everyone "prays to the same God" be we Christian, Muslim, Jew, etc., his actions regarding Israel are clearly in opposition to the Word of God as defined in the Bible (i.e, dividing the land and giving it to the Palestinians), so it would seem to me that it isn't unreasonable to question whether or not President Bush has been lying all along about his own faith.

True?

Obama is not a Christian but a liberal theologian a cult movement within Christianity.

Based on his own words and profession of faith in Christ, he most certainly IS a Christian. He may be in error, perhaps even GRAVE error so far as doctrine and theology is concerned, but if he has professed his belief and faith in Jesus Christ as his saviour (which he has), then by Biblical standards he is a Christian.

How he conducts himself as a Christian is between him and the Almighty.

“The cult is an army of burger flippers.”

One of the Obamites came to our door this past weekend trying to proselytize the Cult of the Magic Negro. There were several of them trolling our neighborhood — none were over the age of 21.

David Duke professes he is a Christian too and so does Fred Phelps Westboro Church. Obama and people like him meet this criteria and this puts it all in proper perspective from a Scriptural standpoint:

2Peter 2
False Prophets and Their Punishment

2But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive opinions. They will even deny the Master who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2Even so, many will follow their licentious ways, and because of these teachers* the way of truth will be maligned. 3And in their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their condemnation, pronounced against them long ago, has not been idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

4 For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell* and committed them to chains* of deepest darkness to be kept until the judgement; 5and if he did not spare the ancient world, even though he saved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood on a world of the ungodly; 6and if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction* and made them an example of what is coming to the ungodly;* 7and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man greatly distressed by the licentiousness of the lawless 8(for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by their lawless deeds that he saw and heard), 9then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgement 10—especially those who indulge their flesh in depraved lust, and who despise authority.

Bold and wilful, they are not afraid to slander the glorious ones,* 11whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not bring against them a slanderous judgement from the Lord.* 12These people, however, are like irrational animals, mere creatures of instinct, born to be caught and killed. They slander what they do not understand, and when those creatures are destroyed,* they also will be destroyed, 13suffering* the penalty for doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, revelling in their dissipation* while they feast with you. 14They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! 15They have left the straight road and have gone astray, following the road of Balaam son of Bosor,* who loved the wages of doing wrong, 16but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

17 These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm; for them the deepest darkness has been reserved. 18For they speak bombastic nonsense, and with licentious desires of the flesh they entice people who have just* escaped from those who live in error. 19They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption; for people are slaves to whatever masters them. 20For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overpowered, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment that was passed on to them. 22It has happened to them according to the true proverb,
‘The dog turns back to its own vomit’,
and,
‘The sow is washed only to wallow in the mud.’

Barack Obama's Plan

Provide a "Making Work Pay Tax Cut" for America's Working Families

". . . Obama will create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. This refundable income tax credit will provide direct relief to American families who face the regressive payroll tax system. It will offset the payroll tax on the first $8,100 of their earnings. . ."

I have been following Obama's campaign with interest, and I am unable to cite any instance where he has attempted to equate himself with a Biblical prophet, which would be necessary before he can be classified as a 'false prophet'.

All Obama has done in this (spiritual) regard is to profess his own individual and personal faith in Jesus Christ, correct?

Now we can certainly discuss and disect Scripture until the cows come home if you like, but before we travel down that path, since you have invoked the examples of David Duke and Fred Phelps, perhaps you would be kind enough to provide some similarities and parallels between the behavior, conduct and actions of Duke and Phelps to Barack Obama, over and above a simple profession of faith in Jesus Christ?

Thanks in advance!

They all follow heretical false doctrines and try to present themselves as Orthodox or mainstream. (extreme fundy, Phelps), (racist, Duke & Obama) Duke and Obama come from movements that are racially supremist oriented. Obama’s Church in Chicago promotes black supremacy and gave an award to Louis Farrakhan. They also are pro-choice, pro-gay marriage etc. Duke is affiliated with white supramcists who call themselves Christian. None of these movements are faithful to the Gospel.

The Quran teaches the Muslim it is permitted to lie to the infidel.

Man shall not live by bread alone, neither by any word from the mouth of Obama.

People can profess to be Christians and it can mean nothing more than words especially in politics. But what I do find disgust in was Mr. Obama’s vote in the infant born alive bill. There was no mercy in that vote and only supports his militant stand on abortion. There have been millions of abortions in this country but to not try to save the life of an infant that was born by accident through abortion is abomination! It is not a reflection of the gospel. And him and any other person in a place of authority goes with that much more of responsibility of their actions. These people have the power to make change and cannot simply set aside their so called faith of professing to be a Christian.

"People can profess to be Christians and it can mean nothing more than words especially in politics...These people have the power to make change and cannot simply set aside their so called faith of professing to be a Christian."

An excellent point Red Irish.

I've pinged a few others this morning because there IS a 'method to my madness' with my citing Obama's profession of faith in last month's ChristianityToday (I won't include it again, everyone has seen it by now I'm sure).

If, as Christians we have someone profess to us that they share our faith in Jesus Christ, it is (IMHO) not up to us to automatically tell them they're a fake and a fraud because it is Almighty God alone who is able to see into the heart of every person and discern and determine their sincerity (or lack of same) regarding Who they claim to believe and have faith in, i.e. Christ.

But as everyone has pointed out, a person's actions and deeds speak to what is within them. Matthew 7:16 is the relevant Scripture here, "you shall know them by their fruits", and the only truly pertinent question that needs to be asked now is "what are the fruits coming from Obama?"

I have stated that I accept his profession of faith at face value, and I do. But that does not mean that I would refrain from questioning what Obama has produced in the way of 'fruit' and the contradictions of that earthly fruit with his statement of faith in Christ.

In reality, Obama has, with that interview and quotation in Christianity Today, placed a sword into the hands of any Christian and/or political opponent that can be lethal to Obama's electoral ambitions IF the person opposing Obama has the spiritual strength, courage and -guts- to wield that sword and follow through with it.

For example, Obama said:

"I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful."

This is where Obama can be called on the carpet and challenged, perhaps with a question like:

"Senator? You talk about 'prioritizing the least of these over the powerful', how can you explain then your support of the powerful abortion lobby like NARAL and other pro-abortion groups over "the least of these", i.e., unborn babies in the womb, who would certainly be defended by the Christ you claim to believe in?"

Or perhaps something like:

"Senator Obama, you have stated in Christianity Today that 'Accepting Jesus Christ in [your] life has been a powerful guide for your conduct, values and ideals', and based on that would you agree that the pro-abortion lobbies NARAL and Planned Parenthood would give Jesus Christ a 100 percent 'pro-choice' rating as they have done for you and your primary opponent Hillary Clinton?"

[note: do you all see where I'm going with this now? mkj]

This same strategy of challenging Obama's 'fruits' also applies to foreign policy, i.e., Obama has been opposed to the liberation of Iraq, but how can he reconcile that position with the fact that because of the United States, because of the Bush Administration that he so roundly condemns, that nearly 30 million Iraqis are now living in a democracy instead of an oppressive tyranny? His positions are indefensible, especially if they are contrasted with his own personal affirmations of Christian values.

IOW, if Obama were to show up in my church, I would welcome him as my Brother in Christ, based upon his personal profession of faith.

Then, if he wished to engage in debate, I would beat him like a red-headed stepchild by putting the spotlight on his own hypocrisy by challenging the UN-Christian fruits of his public life as an elected official.

So you see my FRiends? I haven't lost my marbles, not at all! ;)

Obama is using his one and only experience as COMMUNITY ORGANIZER to rally all the low wage earners to his side with promises of tax relief. I would love to here from some middle class African American’s earning above 50,000 single or combined on how they feel about Obama? Seems to be pretty quiet out there. They are in the same boat with us but I DON’T HEAR YOU!
