spayed or neutered by the time they are 4 months old.

The ordinance does exempt some animals, including those that have competed in shows or sporting competitions,

Interesting, since that isn't old enough to have competed in shows. Conformation or Obedience (AKC) entrants must be 6 months old to compete.

If the animals(babies) are in shelters they are spayed or neutered at six to eight weeks.
No animal in California can leave a shelter without being spayed or neutered first.
I want to know what they are going to with all those animals if they become “no kill”.
Huh, no kill sanctuary city but abortion clinics everywhere - the priorities.....

I think a special show should be organized for all of these dogs to compete.

A show of force, in front of City Hall.

They will therefore all be exempt, as having competed in a show, and the mayor might get the message that his gulag might be liberated if he doesn’t back off or resign.

What if you want to breed your dog?

I didn’t read the article but know the feral animal problem, cats especially, is terrible.
