Black Hillary Supporters May Be Receiving Threats
American Thinker ^ | February 26, 2008 | Marc Shepard

Posted on 02/26/2008 1:44:10 PM PST by cricket

There's mounting evidence that at least some of Obama's faithful intend to see a black American president sworn in next year -- no matter what it takes.

Earlier this month, popular black author and talk-show host Tavis Smiley disclosed death threats he'd received from those accusing him of blasphemy against their black prophet. Then, at Saturday's Smiley-hosted State of the Black Union forum, Congressional Black Caucus member Stephanie Tubbs Jones lent credence to Smiley's claim by suggesting that many black elected officials not swearing allegiance to Obama have also been the target of violent threats.

While widely ignored by the mainstream media, the implications here are nothing short of momentous. The very prospect of physical intimidation as a means of garnering political compliance from Americans awakens frightening images of the thuggish antics of one William M "Boss" Tweed in mid-nineteenth century New York. Having survived the 2000 election debacle without even the threat of bloodshed, would some now have us back on the road to the iniquitous days of Tammany Hall?

Not surprisingly, no one in the black community has come forward with specific complaints. But here's what we do know.

For nine years running, Smiley has hosted the annual symposium of black college professors, politicians, activists, and entertainers during Black History Month discussing matters of concern to those whose heritage the month honors. This year, Barack Obama declined an invitation -- accepted by Clinton -- to address the panel of black dignitaries in New Orleans.

The Illinois senator and presidential hopeful's unexpected rejection prompted a disappointed Smiley to blast the decision as a "major mistake," and that's when the trouble allegedly began.

The perceived racial apostasy apparently sparked not only thousands of angry emails labeling Smiley as a "hater, sellout and traitor," but also the relentless harassment of his entire family. And, while he has yet to elaborate, Smiley has also mentioned the matter of death threats - levied for the mere suggestion that the mighty Obama had somehow erred.

Needless to say, this newfound esteem wouldn't help sell standing room tickets to Saturday's historically well-attended seminar.

As it turned out, round one of the conference featured two CBC members - one an Obama backer and the other a Clinton stumper. You'll likely be as surprised as I was to learn that the Caucus is actually split rather neatly down the middle in their support for the two remaining Democratic candidates.

And, while DC congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton spoke the requisite racial solidarity, Tubbs Jones revealed a true affinity for Clinton's sisterhood message, admitting that she had committed to Hillary's feminist positions and election some 15 years ago. That was, of course, long before anyone ever even considered a possible race/gender dilemma for black women.

The Ohio Democrat spoke quite convincingly of sexism trumping racism and the need for women to finally shatter that immutable "glass ceiling." Listening to her passionately address women's issues and considering her voting record on such concerns as Child Health Insurance Programs, one could hardly question her Hillary decision. But then she spoke with equal earnest of a darker truth hanging over black Clinton supporters:

"There are some black elected officials who have earned their stripes, who've had to change their phone numbers two or three times because of the calls being made to them about the positions they are taking in this election. Shame on us. Shame on us. That we would beat down black elected officials who've paid their duty and their time.

"I'm saying to you that I don't care what happens, I'm for Hillary, someone else is for Barack Obama, but we're going to stand up - the black caucus is the conscience of the nation and we're going to stand up and do our thing no matter what happens."

But while Tubbs Jones dallied vague about the nature of the "beat downs," fellow panelist Louisiana State Senator Cleo Fields was so distressed by the very thought as to warn that he would:

"be disappointed and would be ready to fight if somebody raised a finger at this sister [Tubbs] who had worked so hard for so long and had been representing black people better than most people could ever dream of."

It was then that Tavis Smiley, himself, grasped the opportunity to address his own first hand experience of this darker side of Obamamania, the one we've previously explored with much concern:

"Some folk [are] getting death threats because of the emotionality and the excitement and the lack of wise enthusiasm that we see rampant in our community.... How can we have a conversation about this campaign or any other issue where we are divided in the community without the kind of name calling, the hater talk, the traitor talk; the sell out talk? .... How do we have a civil, loving dialogue when there is a divide in our community?"

Good questions.

But in the shadow of possible death threats waged against blacks for even speaking against Obama -- I have a much better one.

This is the very kind of poor “journalism” that gives the “New Media”, or any media, a bad name. The whole article talks about what was alluded to or what may have been distilled from vague comments.

If the author wants to know if Black Politicians or leaders are being threatened why didn’t he pick up the phone and interview Rep. Tubbs or Tavis Smiley? This is just inuendo with a tittilating Headline written for an audience that wants it to be true.

If this is true, it is important and should be given a more professional approach.

Well, only posted 'once' and did check . . .seek. . .but did not find.

Meantime, you are right; it is a winner headline. . .

This story needs repeating; and while I would hope O'Reilly or somesuch might take this on. I suspect we will NOT hear, much of this ugly 'truth of the matter'.

State of the Black Union forum & Congressional Black Caucus

Now I understand disenfranchised better.

What must young white kids think today?

That a State of the Black Union Conference is OK, a Congressional Black Caucus is Ok, a National Association for the Advancement of Colored Black is ok, that a United Negro College Fund is ok.

But try to have an exclusionary white club, that's racist & bigoted.

By the way, if any of you managed to watch this whole thing on C-SPAN and avoid throwing things at your TV or thowing up you would have notice a variety of just mindboggling insanity like:

White racists are putting manganese into the Malt Liquor (which is only sold in the ‘hood’, apparently) which causes young black men to become violent and kill each other. This is according to Dick Gregory. Dick is a widely respected black activist even though he spend much of the last decade working for homeless people in LA and was kneecapped by democrat bigwigs when he came out in favor of Bushs’ Faith Based Initiative and lost the lease on his homeless shelter (which got no press and threw hundreds of black homeless back onto the streets of LA in a crude political act of retribution).

Yep, Manganese is no longer a trace mineral which is contained in multivitamins like Centrum. It is now a poison which causes insanity and uncontrolled violence. And it causes those terrible side-effects only in young black males. And that is why ‘The Man’ put it into the malt liquor because only black people buy beer in 40 oz bottles (yeah, other homeless alcholics tend to buy the more expensive 12 packs of Miller Lite).

Not since the 1980s rumor that a particular brand of fruit drink (think KoolAid but with the sugar already added) contained a chemical which caused castration in males and was designed to stop the black birthrate! Yep, ‘The Man’ managed to find a drink which ONLY blacks consumed and therefore this was the perfect vehicle for their elaborate plan to keep the black birth rate down by chemically castrating young black men. It was a brilliant plan up until the point where the company who put out this drink went out of business because of this insane rumor. And since this super-sweet syrupy drink was primarily purchased in urban grocery stores and convenience stores, the manufacturer eventually had to drop the entire line.

And then there was the urban (read: black) rumor that Snapple was actually run by a group of racists. Snapple was so increbily obvious in their racism that they actually put the picture of a slave ship RIGHT ON THE LABEL OF EVERY BOTTLE!!!!! Oh yeah!! Snapple, which was promoted by Rush Limbaugh, was run by slavetrading racists who wanted to bring back slavery in America even in the 1990s!!! Unfortunately, the ‘ship’ on the label of the Snapple bottles was not remotely like anything which brought slaves to the North American Continent (only 5% of which ended up in the U.S.A.). But Snapple was forced to issue huge public denials and apologies and they had to change their label to remove anything which could even possible look like a seafaring vessel of any kind. And since Snapple had 39mg of sugar in each ‘serving’, it is very popular in the black community (they like drinking stuff with buttloads of sugar, just ask Magic Johnson who put five different ‘fruit’ drinks into the fountains at his Magic Johnson Theatres).

If you have never had any personal contact with the urban areas of America where a disproportionate number of blacks live, you know that they essentially live in a different country than the rest of us. They have different TV stations, different newspapers and different radio stations. They don’t experience the same ‘news’ or ‘gossip’ that people see on E! or VH1 or Entertainment Tonight. The literally live inside a bubble in the inner city and the consume media which is heard, seen and read only inside other inner cities. If you don’t know who Tom Joyner is, you have no idea how much different your America is from the one most black people live in.

And when you hear Michelle Obama say ‘she has never before really felt proud of America’ before, everybody who lives in an innercity knew exactly what she meant. I knew exactly what she was saying but the vast majority of white people were left scratching their heads. Michelle doesn’t live in the same America that most of us live in and she has never been proud of ‘our’ America which she is not a citizen of. Her ‘America’ is chock full of racism, imperialism, discrimination, false promises, lies, slavery and The Man. And if you read her Senior Thesis from Princeton, she pretty much tells you straight out that she doesn’t feel welcome or a part of the America that people saw on Seinfeld or the ABC Evening News.

It’s incredibly sad. And hispanics are well on their way to creating their own ‘America’ in which everybody which non-brown skin is a member of the KKK or the Minuteman Project (which they view as the same).

[“Black Hillary”

Sounds like a good title for a song by Everlast.]

“White Trash Fugly”

Have at it. Here are the lyrics for “WT Beautiful”

White Trash Beautiful, Trailer Park Queen
She slings hash at the diner from 11 to 5
She married a boy from school, thought he was oh so cool
But all he can do for money is drive
Out late haulin’ freight on Interstate 5, prayin’ he’ll see home before his baby arrive

White Trash Beautiful, there’s something you should know
My heart belongs to you
And you could’ve found a better guy
I’ll love you till the day I die
I swear to God it’s true
I’m comin’ home to you
I’m comin’ home to you girl

He lights a cigarette, his eyes half open
He won’t be home tonight, but she keeps hopin’
Drinking himself to sleep is his only way of copein’
She waits for him every night, she leaves the front door open
It’s 4 AM and doing 95, trying to stay awake and make it home alive

White Trash Beautiful, there’s something you should know
My heart belongs to you
I know you could’ve found a better guy
I’ll love you till the day I die
I swear to God it’s true
I’m comin’ home to you
I’m comin’ home to you girl

Her lips stay painted red, nametag’s crooked
Her heart’s been gone awhile with the truck driving man that took it
He keeps her photograph on his rear view mirror
She prays for him every night, she hopes that he can hear her

White Trash Beautiful, there’s something you should know
My heart belongs to you girl
I know you could’ve found you some better guy
I’ll love you till the day I die
I swear to God it’s true
I’m comin’ home to you
I’m comin’ home to you girl
I’m comin’ home to you

Nothing the black community hates more than ‘diversity’....
...They hate black Republicans because they don’t agree with victimhood...

I can attest to this first hand.

Good point.

Can only say by sad observation that perhaps, thanks to a politically-correct induced fear that much of the truth mined so far, during this campaign is by innuendo.

The much-hyped, innuendo-filled photograph of a 'garbed' Obama being just that. The Clinton efforts almost childish here. Rather than speak to the harsher truths - harsher realities; we are sent a photo that by end of day, impacts more the racist, minion-minded who delivered it.

There ARE serious truths re this man - this candidate - that have yet to ignite into authentic dialog. Not in his Party for sure; and sadly, we are not hearing it from Repubs. Meantime, 'too late smart' is just that; if we allow political correctness to checkmate truth.

Thanks. . .good memory lane walk. . .

To add to the already divisive; if Obama is elected; we will be getting Al Jazeera on full clock.and 'prime-time' for non-subscribed media.

We know for sure, one aspect of this story is real; as this 'walk' reminds us; and that is the potential for 'black on black' vendettas; as well as the ramifications for outrage when the larger 'collective voice' is diminished.

Well of course, you nailed the worst part of the headline i.e. 'black Hillary'. We know Clinton was first black President; but he was/is - in a manner of speaking - married to a white woman.

As for the missing death; Thought I did a cut/paste; but apparently not. . .'MY BAD' for sure/lol
