Bill Clinton: "If You Elect Me" (I'm Speaking as Her)
For a natural-born politician such as former President Bill Clinton, it may be tough to spend so much time talking about someone else.
For that reason, he has assumed an interesting way of speaking from the stump whilst campaigning for his wife.
He precedes a pitch by saying something along the lines of "This is what my wife says" and then he launches full-throttle into the pitch.
It can get confusing if you tune out for a second.
Today in Portsmouth, Ohio, he said, "So Hillary says, in 2005, the United States Congress adopted the Bush-Cheney energy bill, which gave $27 billion in subsidies to nuclear, oil, and gas and coal.
The only thing that was justified was clean coal, because countries are going to be using that. We have to figure out how to take the carbon dioxide out of it. The rest of it is waste.
If you elect me, I'll repeal those subsidies. And put them into a strategic energy fund that will create American jobs for America's future with clean energy."
If you coughed and missed the "Hillary says" in that sentence you might be surprised when he reaches the "if you elect me" part of the pitch more than 60 words later.
Because after all he's not running for anything.

This is really grasping at straws. The title of the story is taken out of context. He says Hillary said and if he/she whoever did not hear that then they are the idiots. I want Hillary as the Democratic nominee as we can beat her. I don’t know if we can beat Obama Mania.
Bill is NOT running for President and when he says ‘I’ he is definitely NOT referring to himself, who is NOT running for President.

The fact that his ego popped through is not news, just confirmation, nothing has changed.
I don’t think it’s grasping at all. I noticed it weeks ago.
I have never heard another surrogate talk about a candidate in the first person that way....they always say “if you elect him/her then he/she will do so and so”.
Interesting note: How he emphasizes clean coal. But, as president, he federalized a huge swath of Utah that just happened to contain the largest clean coal deposit in the world, making mining impossible. And guess who owned the world’s SECOND largest deposit of clean coal: The Lippo Group (James Riady)!
Its amost as surprising that it didn’t happen the other way around when she was backing him in ‘92 and ‘96.
Didn’t Hillary once reject some request being made of her back during Bill’s term in office by saying “We cannot do that; we are the President,” or something similar?
It’s like they’re a single power-mad entity.
Does that mean we can impeach his crooked azz again?
You guys are making a mountain out of a speck of sand with THIS one. Bill CLEARLY said “So, Hillary says...” at the beginning of that segment. So he WAS speaking “as Hillary.” It’s completely clear and there is NO issue of Bill’s ego going on here.
I'm not too worried about Osama/Obama at the moment. It's still very early and sooner or later he's going to have to answer some very serious, very direct questions. Thus far, it's been all fluff coming out of an empty suit. These questions that will undoubtedly come up in the general election debates are ones that Osama/Obama does not have answers for.....and it will show big time.
I heard an earlier radio clip of him on a knoxville station...asking people to vote for him. Sad.
