From the article:

"The attack that killed Baig bears the hallmarks of al-Qaeda, which observers say is aiming to destabilise the country after pro-democracy forces triumphed in last week's general election, routing Islamist parties at the polls."

AQ in Pakistan views the regular army as the enemy. Besides, AQ doesn't give a sh!t about how many innocent people get killed in their attacks.

I read stuff about them killing children in front of their parents in Iraq in ways that are unbelievable. Is this starting all over in Pak?

Short version of the story:

AQ ran across the border to Pakistan after the US started handing them their asses. AQ has been hiding along with the Taliban in the mountainous tribal regions that Musharraf’s government has never really had control over. Musharaff, at our urging, has been sending the Pak Army into those regions to expel AQ and the Taliban radicals. They have been involved in some real fighting.

To complicate matters, Pakistan’s intelligence services, ISI, have been complicit and supportive of the radicals. AQ and the Islamic extremists see the change in government as an opportunity to turn the whole country into another Sharia law shit-hole.

Prayers for the Doc’s family. What an unnecessary, senseless murder.

In World War II it was against the code of war to shoot at medics. Not that al-Qaida would ever care....

Pakistan needs all the prayers it can get.
