McCain's a lobbyist-loving Beltway hack; so what?

I don't understand why people who purport to be conservatives are getting so worked up about that New York Times article on John McCain.
As a conservative, I took that article as proof that everything we conservatives were saying about McCain was correct.
My main objection to his candidacy concerns the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill. That bill would offer amnesty to 10 million or so people who entered the country illegally. McCain not only sponsored the bill, but he continually argues that the approach that he termed "amnesty" in 2003 is not amnesty in 2008.
So McCain is a liar. No big deal. Most politicians are.
Then there's the question of why he backs that bill. Does he do so because his heart bleeds for all those Mexicans and Central Americans who entered the country illegally? I doubt it. I've spent years in Mexico and Central America and I'm sure I have more real feeling for the people there than McCain does. I just don't want them moving here by the millions. McCain does. Why? The most likely explanation is that lobbyists for big business told him they need cheap labor.
Check the calendar. If you were born yesterday, then perhaps you believe McCain's stance is driven by compassion. But if you're a bit older and wiser, you'd have to conclude that he's in bed with the lobbyists.
The only question is whether he's literally in bed with a lobbyist, specifically Vicki Iseman, the lovely blonde cited in the Times article. I certainly hope so, A guy like him would look foolish if he permitted himself to be so obviously manipulated by a gorgeous woman while getting nothing in return.
And if it turns out he's lying about the affair...

How rich are the Clinton’s and how much were they worth 10 years ago?
For that matter, how much are the Barak’s worth now and earlier?

That makes you either a politician or a lobbyist.

No. All great truths begin and end as truths.

Pretty much hits the nail on the head except fot the 10 million illegal aliens, try 20 million plus...

I should have said that all truths(great or otherwise) have no beginning or ending. They are timeless and perpetual and I defy you to find a blasphemous truth. Shaw was a brilliant blowhard who made his name outside the realm of truth by being blasphemous to everything. Shaw was the Michael Moore of his day.

I still do not know what all the fuss is about, people ought to be thanking the NYTimes for ‘vetting’ lord McCain. As it is true they NEVER accused him of having an affair they say some wild woman had to be kept away from him. Sounds pretty much like the Leon Pannetta patrol Hillary had to establish a few years back in the White House proper.

Whatever McCain’s motive for pushing amnesty and open borders, he has to be intelligent enough to realize the end result will be the destruction of this country. Although it is plausible from the number of lobbyists on his staff that he is their pockets, there might be more to his frenzy for amnesty. This does not explain his vote against the Cornyn amendment.

The difference between a politician or a lobbyist and a freeper is that politicians and lobbyists make money off of this shit. Scarey thing is that usually the smart people are that ones who make money off of a situation.

McCain reminds me of a past CA law spammer named Jesse Unruh. (he's the one that stupidly pushed for a full-time legislature) He always said:"If ya can't take their money, drink their booze, (bed*) their women and still vote against 'em, yer in the wrong business!" (*edited word too corse to type in here)
I think he also coined the phrase:"Money is the mother's milk of politics!"
