U.S. immigration officials say today they've determined the identity of the 24-year-old woman who drove a van into a school bus, killing four children last week in southwestern Minnesota.
The driver has been identified as Olga Marina Franco and she's from Guatemala, according to Gail Montenegro, a spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Chicago.
Franco has been charged with four counts of criminal vehicular homicide stemming from the Feb. 19 crash near Cottonwood. Witnesses say she blew through a stop sign, jumped over some railroad tracks and hit the rear of the bus, which tipped over and collided with a pickup truck.
The woman initially said her name was Alianiss Nunez Morales, but ICE officials said she was using a fake name and was here illegally.
Immigration agents first interviewed Franco on Feb. 21. During that interview, she said she was from Mexico. Investigators ran her fingerprints through databases and found no matches, hinting that she had no prior contact with immigration officials.
ICE has placed a detainer on Franco, so that if she is released from the Lyon County jail in Marshall for any reason, she will be turned over to federal authorities and placed in deportation proceedings.

Impossible, since her crime isn't one for which the death penalty applies. Wishful thinking.
They seem to think it's possible that someone can kill 4 kids because of reckless driving and all the charges will be dropped?
And not possible in Minnesota, your friendly sanctuary state.....

And then they should have the crap sued out of them, and lose. I’m not a big fan of the plaintiff’s bar but in this case I’ll make an exception.

I’d think she’d be a high visibility prisoner such that they would NOT inadvertently release her. And if they did, they’d probably lose custody of her so that the Feds couldn’t apprehend her anyway.
Let’s hope they can manage to keep her in custody.

Also, she has “hired” a St.Paul attorney and he has made a statement, claiming that she has a defense.

When will people realize that slaughtered children are simply part of the price we have to pay to be politically correct? I hope this poor woman is allowed to sue the school board that hired the bus and its driver.
For hiring a bus driver insensitive enough as to get in the way of, and inconvenience, an illegal? ;')
Are there pictures available of the victims? It would be a powerful image, though one that I could see being sensitive to the families of the victims.
I am on record predicting that state funds will be made available to provide free driver training for illegal aliens.

Suing the employers of illegals is a good way to get to the root of the problem. It also gets past the obstacles of politicians and sanctuary cities.
