When I was attending US Army Ranger School (About 150 years ago) one of my squad members had tan colored skin. I asked him if he was Indian. He replied that he was a mulatto. I had to ask him what that meant.

Only the last 60 years or so. Maybe as far back as WW-I. But not "always".
There are very few "African Americans, save those of recent immigrant parentage, like Colin Powell, who do not have significant amounts of "white" ancestry, and often some American Indian as well, both from pre Civil war times and from places like Oklahoma, where many former slaves settled and got it on with the locals from various Indian nations. (Whites were doing the same at the same time of course).
Maybe, and maybe not. McCain would meet less resistance from the minority in Congress than Obama would.

His own campaign said in a LA Time article that he was never a REGULARLY practicing Muslim, leading one to infer that he was an IRREGULARLY practicing Muslim. Also look at wife Michelle Obama. Married to her since 92, he started his political career a few years after marrying the daughter of a Democrat precinct captain. I would guess that Michelle helped him get access to the Chicago machine
Michelle Obama hasn’t said one thing about the US before the year 2007 that would make her proud to be a citizen of the greatest nation in the history of mankind that has placed her amongst the most privileged of the elite in this country.
I never thought that I would see a spouse of a presidential candidate who was more of a radical, narcissistic, arrogant, hubristic, self-entitled, and maddening solipsist than Hilary Clinton. To the nation’s dismay, I think we have found her. She is the loose cannon Benito Mussolini face of liberal fascism that Barack Hussein Obama is so careful to hide. He is more accomplished at keeping the mask up than she is.
What is technically correct is not the issue here. I know the "one drop rule" no longer applies.
My point remains that it is not beneficial to conservatives to quibble over this.
