Europe has ALWAYS been the laughingstock of the world, especially the French.

Only the last 60 years or so. Maybe as far back as WW-I. But not "always".

Okay, in my lifetime (which does not go back to WW1, lol) Europe has always been the joke of the world. ESPECIALLY France.
