... Oscar is 80 this year, which makes him now automatically the frontrunner for the Republican nomination. You have to admit, this is a huge election. An historic election. So much excitement. For the first time in so many years we dont have an incumbent president or an incumbent vice-president. The field is wide open. Have you all had a chance to examine all the candidates, study their positions and pick the Democrat youll vote for? Democrats do have an historic race going. Hillary Clinton vs Barack Obama. Normally, when you see a black man or a woman president an asteroid is about to hit the Statue of Liberty. How will we know its the future? Silver unitards, that cant be all? You have to give Barack Obama credit, hes overcome a great deal. Not just hes an African-American. Barack Hussein Obama is his name. His middle name is the last name of Iraqs former tyrant. His last name rhymes with Osama. Thats not easy to overcome. I think we all remember the ill fated 1944 presidential campaign of Gaydolf Titler. Its just a shame, Titler had so many good ideas. We just couldnt get past the name. And the moustache. But, are you ready to have a wonderful show ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to this town? Im delighted that youre here. Were going to have a great night.

Or a tidal wave...
Ditto that!
BTW, what was up with Harrison Ford? He was slurring his words pretty badly when he was presenting an award.
Maybe it was me, since I had the “pleasure” of watching it at work tonight, but I got the feeling that Stewart really didn’t want to be there. Like he was mailing it in, as the cliche goes...
...that being said, his monologue was surprising. Stewart is an a$$, but his hosting duties made for slightly below average television.
Wonder how the DUmmies took to actually being on the business end of jokes for a brief moment tonight?
SNL’s Ford and Carter era skits were darn good. The eighties SNL crews however simply had to treat Reagan as the antichrist, however.
How about “The Passion” being overlooked for best film EVER??
They deserve no respect for the contempt they showed to this masterpiece.
I’ll take this pack of huggies and all the cash in that register.
Forgot Dave Letterman so soon?
Son... you got a panty on yer head..."
Yep—he chewed it up pretty good. Much more nuanced performances, IMO, by him in the past. And, for the record, I thought the movie sucked.
“You missed a spot”
Recidivism.
I saw blood in an advance screening. I loathed it. Just glad not a cent of mine went towards it.
If you haven't seen In Bruges yet, go tonight if you can.
Son... you got a panty on yer head..."
Ed McDonnough: You mean you busted out of jail.
Evelle: No, ma'am. We released ourselves on our own recognizance.
He was actually pretty funny. The other good one. (Paraphrasing)—photo montage of Cate Blanchette, Jessica Alba, and Nicole Kidman...and the baby goes to...Angelina Jolie. Angelina couldn’t be here tonite...its hard to find 17 babysitters...
Ford looked like the Cryptkeeper! The ancient guy who had to be helped to the podium looked better! Slurring, and some facial tic thing going on with Ford.
I’m sorry, there’s nothing sadder than someone pushing 70 who still pretends to be an ‘action stud’.
Ford always talked like he was stoned, but now there’s the ‘doddering’ oldster thing becoming apparent. On the Barbara Walters interview he was doing weird things with his face. Spiky hair, makeup and earrings didn’t help.
And he’s flying planes and helicopters-( owns 6!)! So much for his liberal bent applying when it comes to aviation fuel!
Sean Connery he ain’t- and will never be!
I did like the one skit when Phil Hartman (RIP) played Reagan, who would act real simple for a photo op, and then as soon as the press left, would yell "BACK TO WORK!!!", and negotiate arms deals with the Arabs, even speaking in Arabic.
That’s the one I laughed at.
