Nah.
What happens in the Balkans could never start a major war.

“The Kosovo-Albanians have played us like a Stradivarius. We have subsidized and indirectly supported their violent campaign for an ethnically pure and independent Kosovo. We have never blamed them for being the perpetrators of the violence in the early ‘90s and we continue to portray them as the designated victim today in spite of evidence to the contrary. When they achieve independence with the help of our tax dollars combined with those of bin Laden and al-Qaeda, just consider the message of encouragement this sends to other terrorist-supported independence movements around the world. Funny how we just keep digging the hole deeper!”—Maj-Gen. Lewis MacKenzie

"If there is ever another war in Europe, it will come out of some damned foolish thing in the Balkans."

The best way to prevent more war in the Balkans is for NATO to remain in control of Kosovo.

Are we alarmed yet?
Guess not. Maybe a few more war threads will get us whipped up into a fear frenzy.

The writer prefers rhetoric to facts, doesn't he.

Neville Chamberlain's decision in 1938 to allow Adolf Hitler to trash the WWI Versailles peace treaty to seize control of and change the borders Europe, first France in the Rhineland

How many errors can he make in one sentence?

The Rhineland was re-militarized in 1936, not 1938. Strike one.

Chamberlain wasn't PM in 36 - Baldwin was. Strike two.

No borders were changed. German military forces re-occupied German sovereign territory. Strike 3. He's out.

There is some question as to whether the action should be considered a violation of the Versailles treaty (Article 43) or a violation of the Locarno treaty (Article 1). But I'll spot him that one.

Well, except, actually, we’ve been in a war. A war that matters to everyone. But, as usual, the eurtards want to pretend its all someone elses problem and has nothing to do with them.

The idea that war might now, just now, be upon that part of europe is ridiculous in the extreme. Too late, sucks to be them. Not our problem until it’s time to clean out Kosovo with neutrons. If the Serbs want to align with the losers from Russia, then good for them. One less place for us to worry about, since we’ll need to burn them out eventually too.

Serbia is the friend of Russia and now, iirc, signed on with a defense pact with Iran.

Sucks to be them.

I would appreciate being removed from this ping list.

Here's a thought - good. Be about bloody time. Sitting around watching while Russia deliberately gives terror states nuclear technology sure isn't working.

I say we air drop in 1,000,000 M4 carbines and 1 billion rounds of ammunition, then fence the area off. Whoever wants it most will end up with it.

What the US really needs to do is to admit that we don’t give a sh*t what happens in the Balkans. Nothing good ever happened there.

It probably should be noted that the same parties to the Munich Pact which gave the Nazi’s the go ahead to invade Chechloslovakia are the exact same parties leading the Kosovo travesty.

Mary Mostert is more than a little bit bright and she seems to see the potential for a major war in this business. My own view would be that the US is presently stretched too thin to make much of a response to a major Russian move into Kosovo and I can’t picture Europeans doing anything about it.

Serbian Policy like that of the English Crown’s American Colony policy, could lead to war.

I believe President Bush is still running Clinton’s failed, dishonest, unethical and illegal policy in Kosovo.
