It is even more condesending to challenge them for not wanting to vote for a man who advocated that the MIA issue be laid to rest, so trade with Hanoi could commence.
MIAs and POWs. I do not think though his reason just to restore relations with Hanoi. I think is was that he did not want the stories of many to be told.

All I know is the MIA folks don’t think much of him. It was my understanding it was to open up relations and facilitate trade but if that is incorrect it was unintentional. I appreciate your comments.
