Good idea. Until I saw your post, I was thinking small. Just thought: Hmm, I need to get a medium caliber automatic weapon.
Right now I feel inadequate. Only have a .22 magnum revolver and lever action rifle and a .38 revolver, and three shotguns in 12 & 20 gauge. Clearly not ready for the revolution.

Your personal arsenal is adequate, similar to mine -- and all perfectly legal. Plus they can be swiftly hidden should a confiscation edict be issued. The edge you can employ is high proficiency vis-a-vis the weapons you have (and tons of ammo). In a theoretical revolution, presuming the military is split, ANY weapons given to civilian components on the left will be as alien to them as a Bible or a nice suit -- and the competent instructors will be on our side.
