“Either way those who would sit the election out lose all right to call themselves the base of the party.

A real base wouldn’t act so spoiled.”

How do YOU propose we conservatives send the message to the RNC that we want true conservatives? When I was in California, the “base” voted for Awnuld, a man married into the Kennedys and not a whole lot different than McCain. That worked just great, didn’t it?

Much as I would hate to see a Dem in the White House, we might do well to write in the names of true conservatives that more closely share our point of view, suffer through the next Presidency, a then perhaps have the attention of the Party.

You can start by acting like an adult instead of a spoiled child!

An adult knows when to get on board and help row the boat, to be supportive of others if you expect them to be supportive of you in the future. Then to work harder next time to get their point across and get the help of those they just helped.

A spoiled child picks up their marbles and goes home when they don't get their way.

Which you are is up to you.

I wish you were right, but there’s no doubt that the RNC could care less that a relative handful of people will write in a candidate.

The reality is that if there were enough people who felt as you do to make a difference, we wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place. Those people would have voted for one of the more conservative candidates in the race so as to keep one of the less conservative candidates from becoming the nominee.

But they didn’t vote that way. Why would huge numbers then vote that way in the general? Not gonna happen.

We don't have to, nor can we really, "send a message" to the RNC.

The RNC is not in charge of our lives or our destiny. It has no power to vet candidates, give them permission to run, force people to vote or not vote for them.

The RNC is irrelevant to this enterprise. If conservatives want a candidate, they have to "emerge" him themselves. How did Howard Dean emerge when he was NOTHING on the DNC-scene? From the grassroots. How did Obama emerge when Hildy was THE candidate of the DNC, the Rat elites, the moneychangers, the media and on and on? From the grassroots.

WE have to do this and quit blaming the mythical "They."

I’m thinking of writing in Duncan Hunter. But, man, I’d sure hate for a dem to win.
