It’s no secret that FR’s resident Magnolia Mafia comprised of loud and opinionated Mississippians both current residents and expats alike love the old bulldogged faced Haley but outsiders will eschew him for making a living lobbying once.

He is very very popular in the State even amongst those who did not support him..

He did well with Katrina and has damaged the tort law oligarchs down there bigtime too.

He is a true social conservative.

Who McCain chooses as VP is as paramount as could be given his age and his lack of popularity with his base.

He will need someone to help sweep the South or he loses. We all know that and the Dems do too.

Haley would be a good choice but he may not want it.

Magnolia Mafia. I love it! Now what crime are we committing??? (just so I know what to deny when the time comes . . .) :-)

I love Haley, and so does hubby, but neither of us think he is right for the White House as POTUS or VPOTUS. He is very good at what he does. And he knows it. I’d like to know who he thinks would be a good VP choice for McCain.

outsiders will eschew him for making a living lobbying once.

I've yet to have anyone provide any supporting evidence for that widely propagated claim.

I've never seen any proof that Joe Sixpack was remotely as concerned about the dreaded "former lobbiest" tag as the media and certain politicians would have you believe.

I DO think it would tarnish him in McCain's eyes...but I don't think the average voter gives a rip so long as you agree with them on their issues.
