A vote against John McCain is a vote against our troops.
A vote against John McCain is a vote against the GOP.
A vote against John McCain is a vote for surrender.
A vote against John McCain is a vote for defeat.
A vote against John McCain is a vote for al Qaeda.
A vote against John McCain is a vote for Hillary Obama.
A vote against John McCain is a vote for Iranian nukes.
A vote against John McCain is a vote for the destruction of Israel.
A vote against John McCAin is a vote for the rebirth of the Soviet Empire.
A vote against John McCain is a vote for the destruction of America.

Sounds like Hillary's into the FBI files. She'll start attacking McCain now that she's pretty sure he will be the Repub candidate.
So has she finally turned the page on the "Bush Bashing" of the last 7 years?
Remember, McCain spent some time with Hillary....and I'll go back to what I said back then..."Keep your enemies closer".

It’s starting to become more and more apparent why the liberal, mainstream “media” selected McCain to be the GOP nominee. They had already gathered a whole trainload of garbage to dump on him.

OK, I am convinced...now lets get Romney back on the ticket.
I cannot help but to think that if this whole McCain thing comes unraveled that we will have the answer as to why Romney *suspended* his campaign when he did then had a nice kissy face presser with McCain.....Methinks Romney might have known something could be coming down the pike.

Doesn't look good. You're right. It doesn't look good....for Newsweek. Looks like they caught NYSlimes' Disease. If you read the article carefully, you will note there is no contradiction at all.
McCain Campaign statement:
"No representative of Paxson or Alcalde & Fay personally asked Senator McCain to send a letter to the FCC," the campaign said in a statement e-mailed to reporters.
The Deposition: "Abrams then asked McCain: "Can you tell us what you said and what he said about it?" McCain: "That he had applied to purchase this station and that he wanted to purchase it. And that there had been a numerous year delay with the FCC reaching a decision. And he wanted their approval very bad for purposes of his business. I said, 'I would be glad to write a letter asking them to act, but I will not write a letter, I cannot write a letter asking them to approve or deny, because then that would be an interference in their activities. I think everybody is entitled to a decision. But I can't ask for a favorable disposition for you'."
(emphasis mine) McCain offered to write a letter and was very clear that he could not and would not advocate a particular outcome. The key thing is that the request did not come from Paxson or the lobbyists, but was something he had offered to do which he explained at his press conference.
As usual, desperate liberal jerks make it sound like they just got their hands on the Watergate tapes. Turns out to be less than nothing.

PS. I am not a fan of McCain’s. Voted for Romney in the primary. But, the analogy here is war. When America is at war, we (are supposed to) put our differences aside. Likewise, when we are in a campaign against the RATS, we should rally around the guy who’s carrying the flag, even if he didn’t get our vote in the primary.

I can't stand McCain, but if McCain Feingold isn't going to sink him, I can't see how this is going to have much effect.
So he doesn't remember a decade later if he actually talked to Paxton or the lobbyist, or if he got messaged relayed through his staff.
It's not much of a difference in regards to if he was unduly influenced by that company, and there still isn't any credible evidence that he had a fling with Iseman.
This may be evidence that his sweeping denial might have been a bit too sweeping, but it still doesn't really lend credibility to the original story which was pitifully weak.

I was working last night and had Fox News on...Greta van Susteren was talking to someone from the Politico about the McCain story. I believe I heard her say something regarding the story to the effect that "well, we all heard about it" a while back. I wonder if Mitt did too?
I have this wild dream of an upset at the convention and someone else becoming the nominee...perhaps Romney or Hunter. McCain's 'defense' at his news conference was so spiritless and lifeless...how can the conservative base that he has so maligned muster the will to rally beside him if he doesn't vigorously defend himself? I hope he steps aside and gives America a fighting chance against Obama.

Telling the beaurocracy to get their fat behinds out of their fat butt leather chairs and make a decision is one thing I approve.
Should be more of it.
This affair doesn’t amount to a bucket of warm spit.

This is rich coming from Spikey Isikoff... I examined the body of the post and noticed the cachet of "hard-hitting reporting". Then, my eyes flicked to the byline, and I did an "oh, - Spikey".
Nuff said for FR vets...

Yes, I cannot help but thinking back to when Mitt all of a sudden started kissing up to McCain and I thought that was quite odd at the time with their acrimonious past. I am not a conspiracy type of person but that glowing endorsement and delegate handover that Mitt had with McCain just did not quite (almost) pass the smell test to me.
