Class act: John Weaver TRIBUNE-REVIEW
In the media storm that was John McCain and the New York Times yesterday, one man from McCains campaign past remained a class act: close friend and former advisor John Weaver.
The articles liberal use of unnamed sources had many speculating that one of the unnamed was Weaver. Those speculators apparently have never met or had a conversation with Weaver.

"In interviews with The Hill this month, former Sen. Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) and ex-Rep. Tom Downey (D-N.Y.) said there were nearly two months of talks with the maverick lawmaker following an approach by John Weaver, McCains chief political strategist."
Democrats say McCain nearly abandoned GOP in 2001
"After Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry had effectively won the nomination, campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill one day came to his home and found him with Mr. Weaver. The two were discussing a Kerry-McCain "unity ticket," Kerry aides say. Mr. Weaver initiated the idea, the aides say; he says Mr. Kerry did. By all accounts Mr. Kerry became obsessed with the prospect. But his staff was opposed, and so was Mr. McCain. Yet, Mr. McCain "always left the door open a little," a Kerry strategist says."

And now John Weaver is the one who talked to the Times about McCain & Iseman.
Sounds like Weaver was McCain's handler for the 5th column leftist Media-Democrat front... and now they're throwing him over the side.
If you read Weaver's statement, you'll see that the Old Grey Lady used his comments and made conclusions about his actions that were the opposite of what he actually told them. They used other's statements to create the allegations that there was something sexual in the relationship between McCain and Iseman.
I am aware that some may see nothing underhanded about this "class act" repeatedly playing a central role in the negotiation of terms for such betrayals. My bet is most FReepers do not see it that way and my post was for them.
