OBAMA: You know, I’ve heard from an Army captain who was the head of a rifle platoon — supposed to have 39 men in a rifle platoon. Ended up being sent to Afghanistan with 24 because 15 of those soldiers had been sent to Iraq.
And as a consequence, they didn’t have enough ammunition, they didn’t have enough Humvees. They were actually capturing Taliban weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief.
First of all, and correct me if I’m wrong on this Chris (seeing as how I’ve been out for 18 years) but the military rarely splits a platoon across theaters, maybe companies but platoons? Nope…..Secondly, Captains don’t lead platoons, they lead companies. Thirdly, on the weapons thing it may very well because the AK is just a damn good desert weapon that rarely jams PLUS having a weapon that sounds like the enemies and doesn’t sound like one of our M16’s is probably a pretty good tactic. They may be grabbing the AK’s but I’m doubting its because they are not getting supplied. Fourth, if they are so underequipped how in the hell are they able to capture all these weapons in the first place? Just going up and asking the Taliban for em?
I’m gonna call shenanigans (codeword for he is lying through his teeth) on these charges by Obama.
Oh, and one last note. It’s Congress that gives the money to the Military Senator Obama….not the Commander in Chief.
I’ve always thought he was a little light in the loafers. Can you imagine this empty suit as our commander in chief? This whole election cycle is one dirty joke, but nobody’s laughing at the punch line.

If I didn't have to go through it with these idiots, I would like to see him President and bring the utopia they are looking for. Socialism has never worked and it won't work now - it's just these people are too stupid to see it. When they have much taxes, no toys, no work,have to wait 3 months to see a doctor and have to learn Arabic is when they will wake up - too late.

Send Private Obama over to S-4 to get some grid squares. Next, send him down to the motor pool to get a collar for the gamegoat (sp?)
One other thing, you know why he made a gaffe such as this? Probably because not only himself, but no one in his inner circle of advisors have any military experience whether in the military or in relation to policy matters. If there had been, this advisor would have never let him make some of the stupid statements in here.
I don’t want this dingaling NEAR the WH. Or, his equally inane wife.
I’m with you on both counts. His wife seems very angry and explosive to me as well as insane.
I watched the debate last night.
To me, it sounded as if his real beef was with our side taking weapons away from the Taliban.
Anybody else here see something weird about that?
So do you know for sure that didn’t happen or just speculating and condemning the man just because you don’t like him?
Plus, they are probably on the side of our ENEMIES, and hate their own country.
Unfortunately, Obama and mama aren’t alone. I am finding people living among us freely who hat our country or us or both.
But...BHO has some pretty good handlers. And, with the furor over this incident, they will be telling him to toe the line on responses if it comes up in a debate setting. His likely response would be something like “In my administration, I will count on my military advisors and defer to them in matters such as this. After all, they are the experts.”
